Broncos Recruitment

Panthers fan?

Wallace was fine as Lockyer's support where he was called upon only sparingly. But he is hopeless when he is expected to call most (even half) the shots.

The Broncos management have overrated Wallace for a long time now... To be honest I think they have finally come to their senses. He is chewing up way too much cap space for a mediocre play maker.

I hope for your sake he comes good, but I wouldn't be holding my breathe...

not even close.

you're making zero sense, if wallace was again so crap without lockyer, the broncos had plenty of time to usher wallace out the door without needing to top up the panthers contract

They stuck by him, for longer than some would have liked, but they did. He has had two years to do something and clearly he is not the playmaker they were hoping he could be. I honestly think that even without replacing them with Barba and Milford the side is better without Wallace and Prince. I just wish the changes had been made earlier, like after round 3.

I doubt it..

He just does NOT have the vision and class and speed at the end of the day to produce what it takes to play #7 well.

I would like to imagine a new club/coach/location blah blah would make the difference for Wal. But if I had to put money on it. There's terrible odds saying he will do better @ Penrith

For some bizarre reason the Broncos have rated Wallace highly in the past. I've wanted Wallace gone for ages (and I'm not the only Broncos fan who has that opinion). What I want and what the Broncos management think are completely different things. I think the Broncos management have finally come to the realisation that Wallace is going to be solid at best and is not the one to take us forward (thank f**k).

If your not a Panthers fan why do you care so much about Wallace? Are you a Broncos fan or Peter Wallace's mum?

Sadly I agree with this. Good luck to him though...

One more missing piece

1 - Barba
2 -Hoffman/Oates
3 - Reed
4 - Hoffman/Oates
5 - Kahu
6 - ???????
7 - Hunt
8 - Hannant
9 - McCullough
10 - McGuire
11 - Glenn/Gillett
12 - Thaiday
13 - Parker

14 - Granville
15 - Kennedy
16 - Tasi
17 - Gillett/Glenn

Then you have Hodges to return and it's a top 4 side for sure, add Milford and it's a title contender

Great news about Glanville. One only has to look at the difference in our last game - Segiaro (sorry wrong spelling). Look at the impact he had versus the impact of Wallace.

Playing halfbacks - and halfbacks that aren't that fast - as bench dummy half has cruelled us all year. Virtually no impact, although Hunt showed glimpses. There is no substitute for a specialist in a specialist position, and it will only get better if we play either Baptiste or Glanville next year.

First and foremost we need to get Milford, if we don't manage to get him our attack will still improve on this years.. but it won't be outstanding still...

Without Milford we're looking at

1) Hoffman
6) Barba
7) Hunt

With Milford we're looking at

1) Barba
6) Milford
7) Hunt

option 2 is so much more dynamic.

This came through on FB tonight: On AFL 360 tonight Barry Hall and Dermott Brereton both agreed that Karmichael Hunt has done his job for the Suns & will be lucky to get into the starting side next season and should return to the NRL.

it's cruelled us for years, not just this year. mcculloch has a dummy but he's incredibly slow out of dummy half. i havent seen any other player have the ball knocked out of his hands so much

we've had fast players like baptiste and granville twiddling their thumbs elsewhere whislt continuing to try and make hunt into a 9. he's already shown more in his few games at 7 then he has in his 3 years as a backup hooker

Am I the only one who wouldn't be unhappy to see this next year?

6 - McCullough

9 - Baptiste

mcculloch wont work at 6. what the hell happened to baptiste? he played well a few years ago when he got the chance but hasnt been sighted since?

Why wouldn't Macca work at 6? His kicking game is pretty good, defence is solid and he has at least some vision. I think he's normally sluggish out of hooker compared to Granville/Baptiste, 5/8th might give him abit more room and lighten his workload so he should be able to play 80. Just a thought if we don't end up with Milford, I'd rather give Macca a go than Hoffman or Barba, keep the strike power out where we need it.
