This Year?

You’re not alone. I had a feeling I’d lose my s$&$ but I went next level. I don’t know why I do it to myself
I always take losses against the Broncos harder than others. After a bad week at work my saving grace was going to be watching us roll the Broncos and seeing the preview of a bright future, with the icing on the cake getting into the top 8 making the finals a real possibility.

They say dreams are free, but for us nightmares always come back.
It could be worse though I guess.

we were missing our captain dally m leading halfback and main kicker, we missed that today.
We sure did. Would have been a far different result in my opinion.

If it wasn't for dreams, I would have given us up years ago.

It’s just so frustrating in respect to where they are on the table and the quality of teams around them and the fact that this was a huge opportunity squandered. And despite the terrible call on sims it’s just super, super dumb, especially considering how harsh historically the refs r on our guys. Dumb defence out wide, can u just stay on your winger and trust your inside. Arghh does my head in 🤣

Why didn't we warm up on the field in the hour before the game. The Broncos warmed up for a good 30 minutes before the game????
The Sims first sin bin was not warranted.
The Broncs first try was not a double movement.
Jack De Belin was awesome today!
Our backline except Ramsey are poor. That includes Suli. I am happy he has scored a couple of barging tries but he cannot set up his winger. Our backline must be the slowest in the league.
The Broncs had numerous overlaps on us - we never did.
Sullivan and Amione are not up to scratch. Search the leagues and find a 5/8 that can kick, tackle and throw a cut-out pass.
The Broncs are on a winner with their stadium try celebrations - the crowd really get involved. Kids everywhere including a great kids activity section outside the ground. It helps if you have a great government funded stadium. I sat in three different locations and the views were fantastic. Shame that Kogarah Oval is a dump! Double shame most of the available infrustructure monies are going to a new stadium at Penrith???

1. We are the dumbest side in the competition
2. Poor discipline of Sims and Lomax gave Broncos field position and possession advantage
3. Walters easily out coached Griffin
4. We continue to play one out when in possession. Very few offloads
5. Our defensive coach should resign effective today. We constantly back peddle and slide rather than moving up and in
6. When the Broncos player was injured, the team should have been ready to put on a play or a kick
7. Walters targeted Bud, he gets full marks for his tactics.
8. No surprise that we got very few of the 50/50 calls after the Ricky rant last week
9. Any suggestion that Bud after training 1 week with the side would slip in seamlessly was misguided
10. We are clearly part of the also rans and should persevere with the kids for the rest of the season.

WTF are you talking about?
How am I deathriding us?
You literally just responded to a post I made earlier in the week saying how happy I was that Sullivan was selected and how I hoped he would kill it. Yeah really deathriding.
Because I said we were poorly coached you have had a meltdown, you really do have a hardon for the coach don’t you?
Wake the f**k up!
For a so called dragons supporter it seems like you have no faith in the team and all of your posts are pre fabricated so you can ride back in on your high and mighty I told you so horse later on.

My case in point:

1) You first make a smart ass post in this thread claiming Mbye will be named at half back instead of Sullivan, later to be proven wrong when the team list is announced.

2) When the team list is announced you then say how excited you are, haven't been this excited in a while Yada yada as if our new halves pairing are Johns and Fitler.

3) You then start making posts stating there's no way we can lose this game (giving yourself some ammunition and some fake shock when we go on to lose it) thanks for putting the mocker on us there by the way 🙂

4) We lose when your protected species the two halves you were so excited about who were largely ineffective most of the game, don't perform to expectation and all of a sudden we get a post asking why we can't run set plays? As if these two were full of creativity until stepping in to first grade under Hook for the first time, so naturally you bring out your axe you've been grinding and imply the halves didn't play well because of coaching. If they're as good as you made them out to be with all your pre game excitement they would've given us something to cheer about. But yes surely it's the coach's fault for these two not being world beaters today.

Guess what? Halves direct the attack, so I'd say our lack of set plays today had something to do with the two you've been so excited about all week and less to do with the coach.

Just be a genuine supporter of the team without your anti hook agenda for a change mate, it's getting a little tiring . Be disappointed in the loss without coming back to hide behind your posts earlier in the week FMD.

Fantastic post. I fully agree with all your points except number 1 which I would change to
1. We are one of the dumbest sides in the competition. ( Give a bit of recognition to some of the other crap sides)

Just a few thoughts from me about today-
Once again were the most penalised team going-and theres a reason for it and it cant all be the Refs fault. Tariq-shoulder charges were banned a while ago-trying learning the new rules. Same with giving 6 again-we just cant seem to learn to follow the rules. Dont give the Ref a reason
2 kicks that gave 7 tackles and 2 tackled on the 5th tackle-both amateur stuff and not good enough anymore.
McCullough and Mbye arent up to NRL dummy half standard and havent been all year. We havent tried anything different yet
Were not playing as a team, and to me this gets back to the coach.
Sullivan and Sloan arent ready yet.
Rebuilding still 12 yrs after our last win- when does someone become responsible for this?
Pride in the Jersey-long gone

Sorry to read the bagging of J Hunt from some posters. Sure, his missed tackle was a glaring blunder, but I thought his first couple of runs when he came on were fantastic. I think there is a bit of potential in him.
I’d say one thing that’s hard to argue and that’s no one player is responsible, many poor decisions, some good individuals but an overall dismal performance

I had high hopes for the Sullivan / Amone combination, but obviously they are not ready yet.
Sadly I think your right...to many occassions when they were caught with the ball on the last or poor kicking options.....then again ready for what ????? Tbh we are clearly in the bottom half of the table as far as the end of season festivities are concerned.....so do we persevere, look elsewhere or put them back in reserves......its pointless giving them token appearances or benching them while they pull splinters out of their arses

I think everyone needs to chill. Yeah today was a major f**k up and will probably hurt us when it matters most. The next month we play Easts, Manly, Cows and Scumulla. That will well and truly sort us out and show where we are with 4 weeks to go.

Navigate the next month and if we are still in touch then the last month we will be a mighty chance of getting to the semis. A lot of changes up and down the ladder over the next 8 weeks as most teams in contention play each other. Strap yourselves in for a stressful ride

Our defensive coach was the Broncos defensive coach when they were going through that bad run. Explains why they are so shit at it.

Why we didn't kick high to Periera is a mystery instead of kicking to the other Broncs winger .
On this forum many said Pereira was one of the slowest wingers we had at the club and made many errors catching thd ball.
I remember so many comments about him on this forum.
He managed to find the try line alot regardless

I see nothing wrong with Crush posts that you spent an awful lot of time trying to rip apart. Why are you so obsessed with everything he writes? What is so wrong with being excited about Bud being given a chance in first grade. And your last point about halves directing the attack - how do you think they learn their set plays oh perfect one oh that's right - at training!

I'm really really getting sick of wallies on this forum having strong opinions on what is and isn't a genuine supporter after they have been here 5 minutes.

It's not just that Sullivan had an average game. The Bronco's back-up players rose to the occassion. Ours were passengers. With respect to Ben Hunt, he is leading the Dally M count because he is far and away our best player Every Week. He is carrying our side. Without him we're crud. It wasn't clear how cruddy we are until this week. Hunt's good form had papered over the cracks.

I think the statistic is we've lost our last ten games without Hunt playing, might be more. Take that in for a second...

For me it says more about the players around Hunt than Hunt himself. Before he came along the problem was the same. We really struggle to find a majority of smart, classy, committed players that are prepared to dig in for 80 minutes of really tough energetic stuff. Hunt carries us but every year the mountain is too high for him.

Sullivan will be back with avengeance. Would have loved to see him it rip it up but maybe next time.

In one paper this morning they are referring to as as possibly the Broncos greatest ever win, I’m thinking more along the lines of the most disgraceful loss ever but then i think of the Lance Thompson memorial game amongst others and realise what a joke we have become as a club. You couldn’t make this stuff up.
