Haven’t seen it live but going off that pic they have 100% made the correct call, you can’t see any part of the ball on the line, and you can see a hand under the ball
thats Andersons hand... it happens pretty fast but you will probably change your mind when you see the replay.

Yep, and it is covering up any point where you can actually see the ball on the ground to overturn a decision. His hand on the line also suggests that the ball can’t be, the ball would be on top of his wrist
are you being pedantic Beaver? its more than just my "dodgy" screenshot for the bunker to go on. watch the replay and then come back to me. the ball is on the bloody line.

As I said mate just going off that pic, didn’t watch all of the game, just off that pic there is no evidence of ball on the line

k ive swapped out the screenshot for the highlights video. :) 1`min mark.
i dont know if the bunker watches the replay in normal speed but for it not to be a try would be defying the laws of physics and gravity.
i would be interested to know if the ref consults his linesmen before going try/no try, as that linesman was in the perfect position and Smith wasnt.

Have to be honest, based on that highlight package, I didn't see a try. It looked short to me. Joey clearly wanted it to be a try, he called it on the line when there was absolutely no evidence that it was from that view.

I'm not sure how that defies physics/gravity? It looks like he hits the line short then they flip him up.

dont watch the second part. thats obscured by the souths player. watch it in normal time 1.05-1.08. You can actually see the indentation in the paint after he scores. I dont understand how you 2 guys are struggling with this.

You really believe no part of the ball is touching the tryline?

Just had a Quick Look at that video, only on my phone, but can’t see any point where you physically see the ball touching white grass, which is what is required for an overturn

if they had have awarded it my 13+ would have come in though !

Can’t judge it on what we believe may have happened, it can’t be ruled on guesswork, need conclusive evidence that the ball physically touch the line, can only see it landing short, which is shown in that picture above, and hands under the ball on top of the line obscure any touch that may or may not have occurred

If that was overturned against the Warriors, the country would be blowing up lol

ok i give up. you obviously didnt watch the video in normal time at the time i said to, or you wouldnt be talking about the screenshot. i can only pause it at so many frames per second...
You 2 are in the minority. i could post a bunch of people's comments blowing up about this but i think we should all move on as agreeing to disagree. lol. <scratches head>
im actually starting to think you might be taking the mickey.
lol I think you might be taking the Mickey mate ;)

In simple general terms, the rules of the bunker means there has to be conclusive evidence of the ball actually touching the line, for the on field decision of No try to be overturned. At normal speed, at slow speed, with screenshots, whatever way it is viewed, I haven’t physically seen the ball touching white paint, so I can’t call it a bunker howler

If it went up a try, the bunker wouldn’t have had the evidence to overturn it either, and I would have been happy with the same result under the rules

If Manly got that tomorrow, I would feel lucky. If Canberra got tnat, I’d be fuming

The Tigers may have a fair question about Olam last week v Fotuiaki this week and the different outcomes of those tackles

Walker sin bin after bunker intervention for Nicholls falling into his shoulder after Jazz buckled his knee. Penalty for sure. 10mins no way.

Agree. These referees have zero feel for the game.

The RTS one, I think might be the worst I've seen all year. In all reality it isn't, because his one where he got marched against the Titans was worse. But seriously, that penalty is the most laughable thing I've ever seen. I say it most weeks, we have the best game, and relatively straight forward rules, but our referees are a bunch of no-hopers and they somehow conspire to f**k it up.

That Olakau’atu sin bin in a cracker. “Direct contact with the head”, hit him straight across the shoulder and the blokes head wasn’t touched, he would have been in Disneyland if it was
