So you agree tfe Storm are the benchmark for everything wrong in Rugby League!

Proud of you lad

Personally I think Paul Gallen and the Sharks epitomise everything that it wrong with the game in the past decade-- able to achieve a club wide drug saga, a salary cap scandal, have the dirtiest player in the history of the game (Paul Gallen) and somehow both have the smallest and filthiest fans in the entire NRL.

I had never seen a bunch of supporters act as poorly as the Sharks fans did at ANZ Stadium at the end of the 2016 Grand Final.

By no means am I saying the Storm are an 'example' of good behaviour in the NRL; they've made plenty of mistakes (salary cap, style of play, etc.)

But at least the Storm have supporters that turn up to games on a regular basis.

So you are fine if teams only get a fine for knowingly cheating the cap?

Not saying the premiership should go exactly but shouldn't be starting on zero points.

There is pretty much no punishment for rorting the cap
i have no doubt the Sharks would have copped a lot more including loss of points to start the year if this was found by the NRL, but sobbing ourselves in to the NRL is the reason we have been spared that.

Thanks Barry, we can now start fresh and know there are no ghosts in the closet.

I truely hope no other clubs have such ghosts they aren’t fessing up to

I don't think it's the cap it's the 3rd party payments that are the problem.

So instead of addressing that your club supporters are non-existent and that your club has been incredibly poorly run over the past decade -- you just call me a troll ;)

What's it like watching NRL if your head is firmly buried in the sand ignoring the facts?

Your club cheated the salary cap across multiple years before and after your premiership-- yet were 'compliant' in '16 when they weren't in 14,15, 17 & 18.

I'm not saying i agree with Cam Smith that Storm deserve their premierships back, but the Shark's should definitely have the 2016 Premiership stripped if we are using the same criteria as the '07 & '09 premiership strippings.

And just to summarise the situation

Cam and the scum Storm will never get those two premierships back and whilst they and others can whinge, complain and carry on like petulant children, the 2016 Premiership will forever read officially as the Cronulla Sutherland Sharks.

Suck it up

We have exceeded club membership records over the past few years, we consistently get reasonable crowds in the shire, although not many Storm faithful seem to travel for their team ( maybe most are still trying to understand the rules?)

Cronulla were not over the cap in 2016. Todd told you this. They WERE NOT OVER THE CAP. Therefore the premiership is not in question.

You may not want to accept it, but tough shit

Has anyone ever read Stormcloud? It was absolutely disgraceful how fraudulent Melbourne’s salary cap rorting was. Can’t believe no one got charged as criminals over it.

Lol Melbourne have brought so much rubbish to the game in such a short period of time and their supporters are such hypocrites it’s a joke

Oh and whilst we are at it, if the measure is strip premierships if over the Cap then it needs to be applied to Panthers 2003, Bulldogs 2004, West Tigers 2005, StGeorge Illawarra Dragons 2010.

Even then 2016 remains as the Sharks were not over the CAP no matter what Paul Kent tells you

Just makes the roosters 3 premierships all the more impressive TBH.

I don’t fully understand this. Were the illegal TPA’s in place in 2016, but the sharks weren’t over the cap?

If so, that’s pretty hilarious. Can someone fill me in?

Can only go by the NRL’s own words mate.

Sharks were under the Cap from round 1 to the GF which includes any promises.

I assume that means if there were any they were still under the Cap.

As we have seen time and time again clubs are found to have been over in a premiership year and it has not impacted. Why should it impact if you are under the Cap anyway.

That’s how I read it.

Just find it amusing hat you would bother with illegal TPA’s when you still have room in the cap. Between that and doing so badly in the year that they were using PED’s, it means the club is pretty crap at cheating.

They should leave it to the experts. (Insert rich clubs names here).
