Cameron Smith’s stunning call for NRL to return Melbourne’s stripped titles

Smith is being shifty again as needs to correct his stance. Two wrongs do not make a right, and if anything Smith should have been calling for the Sharks to be stripped, if the penalty fits the crime. So Smith should stop with the pulling of wool over everyone's eyes and call it how it should be and not what benefits his club's cheating.
I would agree if the Sharks breached the Cap in 2016, however they didn’t so it really is a pointless exercise

I tend to agree - it is up to the NRL to police this better. If the NRL can't work out who is over the cap before a premiership is won then leave it. It is a farce to see gaps in the premiership record for those years. Fine the hell out of them and strip points for the next season (effectively ruining the season) if you have to, but don't strip titles - it just makes the game a laughing stock.
Would you do the same for drug cheats who won Olympic medals? If Olympians can get caught cheating after the fact and be stripped of medals I don't see why the NRL can't do the same.

New story on NRL.com with Cam proposing that one club 300 game players should have only half their salary counted in the cap. I mean it's not a bad idea but he could have waited until retiring to appear less of a self serving wanker.
Bring that in this week. Kasiano doesn’t have to go and Sharks don’t need to let a player go. Brilliant and very fair

We have exceeded club membership records over the past few years, we consistently get reasonable crowds in the shire, although not many Storm faithful seem to travel for their team ( maybe most are still trying to understand the rules?)

Cronulla were not over the cap in 2016. Todd told you this. They WERE NOT OVER THE CAP. Therefore the premiership is not in question.

You may not want to accept it, but tough shit

If you think a "reasonable" average home crowd to be 12,700 in 2018 and a membership figure of 15,802 in 2018 is "reasonable" and demonstrates a strong NRL club in the middle of league heartland, either you are delusional or the NRL can't be a real national competition. Those numbers are woeful for a club in the biggest Rugby league city in the world.

Interesting you take a swipe at Storm fans for not travelling to away games-- they have to take a plane to get there, Cronulla fans are reluctant to even jump on a train a Allianz Stadium.

And just to summarise the situation

Cam and the scum Storm will never get those two premierships back and whilst they and others can whinge, complain and carry on like petulant children, the 2016 Premiership will forever read officially as the Cronulla Sutherland Sharks.

Suck it up

It is a sad situation the Sharks fans find themselves after winning a exfiltrating GF,and I was as happy as any Cronulla fan during their lap of honour.

But as it is, if the NRL do review this case, there will be no winners ether way. They either strip the Sharks of their maiden GF,which would again, rock the code, and the Shire. Or the Sharks keep the GF win, thus having the rest of the clubs in a mindset that it will be OK to roart the cap.

The NRL have lost their nerve after the Melbourne strips. We'll probably never see another stripped premiership again if Cronulla are allowed to hang on to one as suss as theirs.

They won’t review it. They have done their investigation, carefully and emphatically. Decision made. Done and dusted
