Can we all finally accept that stadiums are better than suburban parks?

Broncos should of never ever happened and some how the top 4 BRL teams should of been included in the ARL national plan

I still think the 4 strongest Qld cup teams (Jets, Dolphins... ) should join up with the 4 strongest NSW cup teams and make their own competition independent of the NRL clubs.

Well I suggest to send off an SMS to Rupert and tell him where to go and get knotted,a nd thanking him for rogering the code ,when it was firing on all cylinders.
Union went pro due to the SL war and the threat of losing their top players.
The Swans got a leg up when clubs got flicked and the SL war was in full swing.
I'm agreeing with you on that and by god should I suggest a thing but if there was no bloody Rugby Union in Australia and New Zealand and it was just League then I stick by f**king 2 fingers up to Soccer and AFL...the bastards....off to bed

1982 he had a blueprint for 4 Sydney teams, 4 NSW Teams at least...we can't go back but it was mad that Sharks and Panthers were added in 1967

Arko has since admitted this strategy is flawed as it takes away established supporters. In this day and age that is not wise. Too many competitors out there nowadays.

I love it when a plan comes together. God you’re a whinging Derrick, but thanks for the listen; our sponsors appreciate it.

What a plank, listening to you whinging about not being able to ride your bike to games for the next two years was the lowlight.

Why does shark park need a capacity of 25k?

Seriously?
Regular season on average
Roosters don’t get that many
Souths don’t get that many
Storm don’t get that many
Raiders don’t get that many (?)
Parra don’t get that many
They all play out of 25k stadiums.

Added to:-
The Broncos play out of a 50,000 capacity, and their average is 30K. 3/5 full.
A one team rl heartland city.and people bag Sydney clubs. Give me another lemon to chew on.

Somebody doesn’t understand the concept of avg’s! The big games over 20k bring up the avg for the small games that get 15k.

Juniors help put bums on seats, now and in the future .Having first hand knowledge of anything gives you a leg up.I see stacks of kids at Shark's games.
Oh and they buy merchandise also. You know that little thing called club revenue.
Well looking at some of the clubs with lesser juniors, it hasn't helped them bump up bigger averages.

Considering the three of the four clubs with the biggest avg’s have the fewest Jnrs and some of the smallest crowd clubs have the biggest Jnr bases I’m not sure your argument rings true on this one!

I like being able to ride my bike to the games. It’s a concept you will never understand- enjoying a local facility.

The irony about PR Is that he is a passionate supporter of Hull KR. A team with more than a few parallels with the Sharks. Tiny area, small fan base, antiquated stadium. Trouble is; everything is looking up for the Sharks and they have enjoyed recent on field success where KR are f**ken shit and their future is tenuous.

It would be delicious if they were to slide into further irrelevance while their place is taken by The Wolfpack or Toulouse or the like.

Yes. If the Illawarra ground is upgraded then the Dragons should shift a few more games to that ground. With respects to the Central Coast a consolidation/expansion club like a Central Coast Bears playing out of Gosford would be a boon for that area and resurrect the code in the northern Sydney area as well. Having this ground based on a major train line is gold. On top of that a Leagues club right next to the ground! A licence to strengthen the code and make money!

You make a lot of assumptions here. Especially that Central Coast Leagues Club would want to be involved in funding an NRL side. Current people who are in charge of Central Coast Leagues Club don't want to fund top flight rugby league, they are mostly interested in lawn bowls. Fact is when they took over the club two years ago, they complained about the cost of being in a feeder club arrangement with the Sydney Roosters and ended the agreement at the end of last season (one year early) as they didn't like the financial drain. Hence it is unlikely they will want to fund a local NRL side at the moment, unless there was a change on the board of directors.

Difference is I'm realistic about Hull Kr's future if we dont improve, and if we dont then we wont be in SL when the likes of Toronto and Toulouse and possibly NY in future years come knocking and that will be no ones fault but ours.

haha whinging because you cant ride your bike to the ground was classic and just about sums up everything that is wrong with suburban mentality of the game in Sydney.

PS so how many extra capacity will Shark park have after all this money is spent?

Perth Red- Constantly moving the goal posts until a condition that he's come up with himself isn't met.

Mate, maybe it's time you put your time into something productive rather than slagging off something you don't understand on the other side of the country.

How much time do you waste on here worrying about whether someone rides their bike and stands on a grass hill in Sydney to watch the sport we all love?

The stadium will be upgraded. It will hold about 20k. The vast majority of the crowd will be seated except for a few sections at either end. All four sides of the stadium will have seating. Local people will be happy. Rugby League will have good coverage in Sydney. It's all paid for.

Where is the argument?

You go about building your Perth Pirates or whatever, we'll continue to look after our yard.

Thanks.
