The problem examples being raised all point to one culprit - the Daily Telegraph. The solution is simple - stop buying it.
The Tele doesn't confine it's sensationalism to rugby league. Look at the hysterical articles about the NSW State Government, lebanese crime, P plate drivers, bikie gangs & refugees/illegal immigrants.
Wishing the same garbage on other sports wont cut it either.
Anyone who reads past the headlines knows that AFL has produce more sordid, and serious issues in the recent past that any other Aussie sport. You don't need sensationalism to tell you that.
In Sydney it would be big news if it was league.
It's a league town.
Brutus, you keep making aussie rules comparisons like it matters outside of Victoria & SA. It doesn't.
Secondly, the annual report of the game's illicit drugs code. It has been popular to pot, pardon the pun, the AFL's controversial three strikes policy but there can be no doubt it is working. Twelve positive tests, down from 14 despite a considerable increase in testing, shows the education and rehabilitation policy works.
There wouldn't be an organisation in the country that could boast such impressive figures. Especially considering we are talking about wealthy young men aged between 18-30.
this spin from the Courier Mail http://www.news.com.au/couriermail/sport/afl/story/0,27046,25557807-5016169,00.html
f**king junkies
lol. Couldn't find any organisation in the world with better stats? If the NRL had the same stats, there'd be seven players named and suspended. As that hasn't happened, it's fair to say that the NRL is cleaner. It's had no second strikes.
You just dont get it do you.
Down here the spin from journalists and the AFL is how positive it is there is only 12 and that the policy is working.
If it was League the headlines in all states would be
"Another Black Eye for League"
"NRL DISGRACE"
"Drugs Rife in NRL"
Great to see MG saying it how it is on the Sunday Roast today.
They were talking about Ben Cousins giving the camera in the dressing room the ups and the 12 players getting Illicit drugs and MG had a rant about how if this happened in the NRL it would be front and back pages stories of how bad this is and exclaiming the double standards.
MG says it how it is. That was a great call on the Roast today. MG, Vossy and Gus are three hardcore league people.
Long live the Roast!!
The roast only goes for an hour, they would need at least 6 just to scratch the surface.MG was great. Unfortunate they didn't give more examples of double standards though.
he was at it yesterday on Triple M as well (saying the exact same thing as today)MG says it how it is. That was a great call on the Roast today. MG, Vossy and Gus are three hardcore league people.
