I would have the utmost respect for the period of dominance that the Queensland team are currently enjoying... if it was achieved by a team of 17 Queenslanders.
Until they can do that, the series is just NSW vs the 'QLD / Inglis / whoever else they wish to select' Dream Team.
The Qld team from 1987-89 won 8 games- the same amount of matches the current side have won since 2006. Furthermore, that team won them back to back, handed NSW a few beatings with no doubt whatsoever about who was the better team, and did so with ONLY Qlders in the team (well, until Mick Hagan got picked up in '89).
If/ when NSW are good enough to win 4 series in a row, I would hope to see at least one cleansweep in there, as well as knowing the Blues selectors didn't have to exploit any loopholes and get a Qlder in the side the make the team a good one. AND should the Blues lose a spiteful Game 3 after winning the series, you won't see the field getting pelted with cups of Tooheys New and see people on these forums lauding the Qld players as "thugs" while excusing the same actions from the Blues players as "defending the brotherhood".
