So $400K for Carney is cheap-as .... cant see managements problem ... that is unless they waste their money on the likes of Withers (probably on $250K and not worth a cent of it).

We should be looking at spending close to half our cap on about six 'marquee" players and the reaminder on the other 19 players ... that is unless management want to pay each and every player the same amount.

Take your pick ... my six marquee players would certainly include the likes of Carney and Zillman ... and I would certainly be looking at luring some talent from other clubs.

We need to sometimes pay overs but we do it with the wrong players IE Howell, Frawley etc, it's like management have learn't but gone in the wrong direction now

And offering tampon carney's position makes them look like a joke

The facts are that other clubs do not find it difficult to cash in big on marquee players ... but we always seem to have difficulty.

The reasons are f**king obvious ... poor allocation of the cap ... ie poor management.

If you want to piss in the long grass you've got to take a risk or two ... we dont ... and therefore we will always be considered as candidates for the wooden spoon whether it is warranted or not.

If we let Carney go we will compound the belief of other clubs that we are not willing to pay 'overs' for anyone. be they a junior that we have spent years getting to a stage where he is considered rep material or be it talent from another club that we are looking to lure to the nations capital.

I think it's a valid question. Carve up the top 25 into payments, Bay, and show us how the numbers work.
