I guess the parra theme song for this year is "No More Mr Nice Guy"
Damn doesn't it just keep getting better.

Cammo said:I know this probably won't help much, but keep your heads up Eels fans. You know you can trust me when I say that if you stick with your team through the bad times it makes the good ones all that much more sweeter.
Your club will come through this and you should never let your support waver.
Good luck guys, I know what it's like when your club goes through the ringer (mine still does it very well at times)
Cayless in drunken casino rage
By Rebecca Wilson
May 21, 2006
THE Parramatta Eels have plunged into an even deeper crisis with the revelation that skipper Nathan Cayless recently smashed a security camera in a drunken incident at Star City Casino.
Cayless was staying at the casino hotel last Sunday week with champion forward Nathan Hindmarsh when the incident occurred after a long drinking session.
Trouble erupted when the two most high-profile players at the club were refused entry to the gaming area and the nearby nightclub because they were intoxicated.
The pair had been drinking all day after playing in the Anzac Test on the Friday night and then against the Canberra Raiders on the Saturday night.
Returning to their hotel rooms, Cayless smashed a security camera in the hotel lift with his fist. Casino security employees fronted the two players in their room. A source revealed that Hindmarsh acted as a calming influence and settled the situation with casino staff.
A remorseful Cayless later agreed to pay several hundred dollars in damages he caused to the hotel security camera.
A star City spokesman refused to comment on the incident but when we approached Cayless yesterday, he confirmed the story.
"I was just frustrated at being refused service," Cayless said. "I know I've done the wrong thing.
"After it happened I spoke to their security manager and got it sorted out. I was stupid.

"But I've had 10 years of first grade and it has been incident free up until this happened.
"And it should be stressed that Hindy did nothing wrong at all. He was just there with me."
This latest incident again proves that player discipline and misbehaviour at Parramatta is out of control and puts further pressure on the club's embattled chief executive, Denis Fitzgerald.
We predicted in this column earlier in the season that player discipline would be an issue after coach Brian Smith failed to show up for the official season launch and Fitzgerald himself turned up two hours late.
The poor example they set has been followed by the players.
Two weeks ago NSW State of Origin winger Eric Grothe got so drunk on a harbour cruise that he slept through his alarm clock and arrived two hours late for a medical with the City team to play Country in Dubbo.
Last week halfback Tim Smith and hooker Mark Riddell were both sacked from first grade and fined $5000 for turning up to training intoxicated.
When contacted yesterday about the latest incident, the normally talkative Fitzgerald simply said: "I don't wish to say anything about it."

And I know the players are adults but the administration now needs to be made accountable. Guys like Overton have dodged the bullet from all this crap but they are the ones who are ultimately responsible for the club's image. I think it will be a very interesting AGM this year!!The EELiminator said:im sorry to say this but if it's true he should be stripped of the captaincy immediately nothing against caylo personally but your club captain should be setting the example for the other players on and off the field

This season must've really driven our guys to the drink?
Absolutely, i am blown away by this i can't believe that our captain the number 1 person in our team has done this, i have always had a high opinion of cayless as a person and now this. The EELiminator said:im sorry to say this but if it's true he should be stripped of the captaincy immediately nothing against caylo personally but your club captain should be setting the example for the other players on and off the field
Cammo said:The article is by Rebecca Wilson so no doubt it has been blown way out of proportion. She is someone that can hardly be called a journalist, she is a muckraker of the worst kind.
eelsta said:that may be true Cammo but cayless has admitted it
Cheers, you're right.Cammo said:Yeah I know, I just don't think it deserves the whole front page of the sports section, he apologised and paid for the damages.
By all means report the incident, but to blow it up like she has does nothing for the image of the game. Cayless has already paid his dues for his misdemeanor and doesn't need some hack journalist blowing it all up in the media.
That's just my opinion anyway.
It wasn't Anzac day and there wasn't a public holiday the next day.If there wasn't training the next day then there probably was a recovery session though.fridge said:big deal, everyone drinks on anzac day.
they just finished playing two of the biggest games of their season. if there was training the next day i'd be pissed, but obviously there wasn't because it's a public holiday.
that's why what tim smith and riddell did was worse.
i like the fact our captain and then our best player go out to the town together. i think footy players should be allowed to go out, except when they know they have training the next day or a game the next day.
