It's as I feared. Gotta be the Titans that get screwed, nobody cares about them right? And cause toothless fans from a club that's not even in the frame today marched for them decades ago so that MUST mean Cronulla and Manly have these super secretive "silent fans" hiding away somewhere ready to hit the pavement at a moments notice.

The population is growing with people who aren't likely to ever be RL fans unless RL starts thinking more cleverly. Like Western Sydney's growth for the last probably 30 years has been from Asian countries. And it has never dawned on RL clubs to try to pitch the game to Asians.
Sounds good, but Asians are half of the world's population, and are a diverse lot. And their children grow up to be Aussies anyway. My wife's Filipino, and she quite likes the game.

If it’s the Titans (and it’s f**king shortsighted if it is), they’d have to be rebranded in Brisbane. Brisbane Titans won’t work. I would expect the Bears to be sniffing around for a Brisbane license too.

RL needs to have 4 teams in QLD and moving the Titans isn’t the answer. There’s a lot of work that the owners and club need to do, to get the GC to where they were from 2007-10

I agree with this.
If I was RL I would look at how American Football is run in Texas. Similar size to the east coast of Australia and also similar population. But between their high school, college and NFL level the crowd attendance is unbelievable. They are admittedly completely obsessed with football, second only to their bible study, whilst we are not.
In a comparison I would look at their two NFL teams as state of origin level and their college teams (they have about 16 good ones) as their NRL level.

Then why aren't NFL owners falling over themselves to relocate there if it's such a hotbed?
If they'd relocate a Sydney club to Brisbane and compete with the Broncos, then why aren't they relocating their NFL franchise to Dallas and compete with the Cowboys?

I listened to it while I was dozing off so I'm a bit vague for a bullet point, but he also floated the benefits of going to 12 men a game, or even 11! Apparently Wok Ryan perceived 20 years that rugby league defences would become too strong in the future and that the game would have to reduce the amount of players to accommodate them. Or something like that. It was all very much in your field of interest, you should check it out.

Why reduce the players on the field when you can simply widen the field by 2 or 3 metres? Not rocket surgery.

I have to question the need for a second Brisbane team? It's uniformly acknowledged that realistically there are too many teams in Sydney, and that the Broncos benefit from being the only team in the city - so why do the NRL need to water this down? How much extra revenue will be generated by putting in a competing team in the same city when they'd play at the same home ground?

I have no problem with Queensland expansion, but it needs to be in regions that are large enough to support a team and are not currently represented by a team. Gold Coast is great in theory, but in major sports it really struggles. I'm not one for saying they have to be relocated, but if they can't survive there - that's a separate issue.

I don't think any NFL teams need to relocate they are all doing well unlike most Sydney NRL teams.
If you were going to move a team to Texas it would probably be to San Antonio which doesn't have an NFL team or a FBS college team or a baseball team.
Edit: actually San Antonio does have a FBS college team UTSA which is not a power 5 conference team. They play in front of an average 25k crowd.

Make it 17 team competition for a few years bringing in Brisbane 2 apparently they have a few rich suckers that want to splash the cash..

Then talk to the WA government get them to throw some money at a Perth team...
The CEO should be over their already instead of being down in Melbourne sleeping in someones guest bedroom...

Make sure you have a plan in place for 5-10 years with recruitment and retention of players as well as development into new areas schools etc....

Your reinforcing his point, 70k fans who come out once every 50 years. Sure they exist but they are hardly rusted on are they if they only ever appear for a GF or to march when the clubs doomed.

So does Perth, we have two millionaires wanting to back a club. This current WA Govt is incredibly positive about RL and the NRL needs to take advantage. Lock in a $15mill centre of excellence, lock in cheap rent for HBF Park, lock in some grass roots funding commitment and in return Perth gets the Pirates in 2023. But that would take some strategy and vision. sigh.

Cause Suncorp stadium should have a game of footy every weekend. It will give the stadium more day games as well.

That is all fine, but aren't you referring to the AFL's clubs profitability here? They don't fund the expansion teams or the Junior investments in the non AFL States do they? They would be looking into funding and supporting their own back yards, right?

I did the club's revenue as a point of reference to see what it takes to run a club in respective league and potential for making money.

The important one to your question is the overall league 668M vs 500M revenue numbers, compounded over years, as to where the additional investment fund comes from to fund growth.

They also set up their grants program, draft etc to support their expansion goals. One thing they didnt do was rely on TV saying yes to Suns and Giants. Amazing what you can achieve when you have a strategy!

We're supposed to beleive the Lions make more revenue than the Broncos who have bigger crowds, more members and sell more merchandise?
Looks like more fudged figures from AFL land.
There was a report a few years ago that had the Penrith Panthers as the most valuable sporting brand in the country but thats only because they have 6 or 7 Leagues clubs with over 150,000 members in total. Not hard the twist numbers to make something look bigger than it is.

Ultimately you can believe what you want, but any organization that is a not-for-profit or public (for-profit) organization has to file 3rd party audited financial reports with the ATO.
Board of director financial officers along with CEOs/CFOs of any organization would be personally and criminally liable, along with the Auditor for filing false reports.
