Wow. Blessing in disguise. Vags to 5/8th... Suits Noddy... Goes forward.

That Sounds good but we were skinny on halves as it is. If Noddy goes down injured then we will really be F**ked.

I wonder if Aitken is regretting leaving the club now:roll:

Yes, and have no doubts, it was always going to be with this merkin Raper in charge.

Will there be more?

It's not bullsh*t either for those that are wondering.

Does this mean he's gone for sure Captain? As in 100%? Or is this just a rumour?

If so... FU**

I'm so sick of the Sharks' antics it's not funny...

I don't agree it's time to offload him. I do agree he hasn't been in top form.

What no one is taking into account though is that he's carrying more injuries than Sutho Hospitals Orthopedic ward.

He'll be the 5/8 in 2006. Set in stone.
Seems not only is Raper f**king things up on the field but he's making our trustworthy posters seem unreliable.

To be honest If he wants out then show him the door, why have him at the club if he doesn't want to be there let him chase the money. After seeing Vags at 5/8 I'm not worried if Dykes does go. It will give a couple of the younger guys a chance to impress and stand up early next year during the trials. I recon this has started since Vags started at 5/8 in the semis and Dykes ego copped a hidding because of it.

If its true???????

Well if the other Weidler thing comes true, we could always sign Finch to play 5/8. He may be a wanker, but he plays hard all game, shines alongside another dominant half and can kick a mean field goal when needed.

Why not slow down a bit here and stop jumping on the Vagana to 6 bandwagon.

It's worked once. Once!

Dykes is leaving because he doesn't like the style of play it has been reported.

What about this "new direction"?

It would seem to me that there is not going to be any new direction as far as style of play. Why else would a player leave and give that as the excuse?

So why is Vagana the answer? Consider the amount of defence Dykes had to do this year. 479 tackles at 21 a game. More than most of the forwards. Consider how tired Vagana was after 30 minutes in the semi doing the same thing.

Now taking into account Vags doesn't get the ball in the centre as a seperate problem, why does anyone think he's going to be playing any differently to what Dykes has had to play this year i.e. the forwards mop up man. Result will be either injured or blunted.

There is no recognised 5/8 now. There is no recognised 5/8 backup either. Is there a signing on the horizon? If so what quality 6 is left on the shelf?

I'd be looking more to Peewee Moke being the 6. Funny how he is announced the week Dykes asked for a release don't you think.

Dykes has cited lack of footballdue to NOddys dominant style as his reason for wanting out.

Its a shame, Dykes for mine challenged the line and defence alot more than nod did this year and I thought they'd forge a good combination next season...not to be :(

A signing on the horizon in the 6 position would be a chance Captain IF the club was shopping Dykes around, thats not the case, he's walked as you know.

I think the club has been caught short yet again here.

Was the news merely a Weidler "special" report?

Or was it an interview with Dykesy?

Or Both?

Geezus i'm so angry... Dykes was one of our best this year....

On one of the Souths forum's someone said yesterday that Ben Walker has been linked to the Sharks... this could all make sense as Dykes is playing 5/8 and wants to play half (which he could at Souths), and Ben Walker is playing halfback and wants to play 5/8... who knows though.

I wouldn't trust Danny "Graham Murray is a racist" Weilder.

Aitken is too similar to Dykes he would have suffered the same kind of fate in the end. Moving on was the best thing for him even if it is to the Cowboys. Firman seems to be out of favour there already (Justin Smith is tipped to be 5/8 this week, thurston half).

Whether its Noddy or the coaches fault it is very difficult for a 5/8 to play at the sharks.

Well Quint, what I said about Dykes being set in stone was true. On that day. With the assumption he was staying. But like has been said many many times here, things change daily, sometimes even hourly in footy.

I think you'll find this request has come today as a result of discussions in the last 24 hours.

I think it showed against the Manly how well Noddy plays when he has all the resposiblity, may be that could be the problem Noddy wants to play like that and Dykes dosn't. Ahhh S##t who knows.
