You all watched a different game to me. Dragons were camped in our 40 for almost the entire game. If not for Nightingale bombing four try’s and Leilua being unable to defend in the middle the Dragons beat us by 30. Overall I thought we were pretty poor and got very lucky.
New coach, new philosophy, new players and players playing in unaccustomed positions, result we won.
We could "if" about every game but what matters is the result and what it brings to the player group mentally....and DKOR the good teams win ugly.

Nope he rushed up a lot out of the line.

Jennings and Hunt any way where our two best outside backs in the trials
In the first dragons try the half on the short side ran around to the open side to create an overlap, it was called by the commentary team.

Overlap happened because of the winger rushing in out of the line, Kennar was that winger

As you all know I have always been COOK's No.1 supporter so my reckoning of his true ability is now truly being vindicated!!
I think Cook & Farah will both be in the 17.
Real mental toughness, in the long-term, will decide who gets the permanent No.9 starting posse!!
I've heard Farah didn't play well and made errors and we didn't look to be free flowing with him on.... if that's the case in the season and he comes on and kills momentum everyone will be pissed...

If Cook goes off with concussion then Murray or Fui can cover hooker...

Cooks number 1 cheerleader has arrived lol.

Cook was great, let’s see if he can do it in a game that matters before you finger yourself to completion.

Jennings and Hunt have been our best two backs in both trials
I wasn't impressed with Jennings in the Wigan trial and I heard off quite a few he was poor with his wing positioning last night and he's a turnstile overall....

I much prefer Hunt on that left wing thanks....

I feel Seibs isn't even giving Hunt a chance on the wing which is poor coaching.....

Also Southy any player stats mate...??

I won't even waste my time Pommy......

Nope, not the whole case at all.
I take your word for it Southy....

I actually as you know was at the Wigan game and Kennar was solid.... does need to work a bit on his defence but he is still a bit rusty... he is much more confident than Jennings under the high ball I believe....

Jennings was a turnstile last week in the Wigan game....

Hunt hasn't even been given a chance by Seibs on the wing which is poor coaching.... I can't see Hunt being there Round 1 based on that and that's Seibs first stuff up....

Also to the ones having Murray at lock well he won't be round 1.... he will be on the bench if he's ready!

Any player stats Southy??

Also hearing Gagai is not the best defensively at centre from lots of Knights supporters...

Wingers need to be near the touchline in defence so the opposition winger can't get on the outside, but if he does that and other players don't come across and help it will just be a case of the opposition centre or fullback scoring instead of the winger..........it's a case of damned if you and damned if you don't.

I do agree with Pommy in the sense that Cook needs to perform like that in round one and beyond but there is no doubt that he should be our 9 in Perth. Farah has played his way into the Bears.

I thought we looked a bit scratchy still and am a bit concerned that we may be underdone going in to round one. That said, there are also two weeks before a footy is meaningfully kicked so hope we can tidy up a few things.

Kennar was left for dead on the right, his best option was to come inside and try to make something happen as opposed to stay out and watch them waltz inside to score. If we're going to be so compact in defence then we need to slide. We looked bad against the cross field kicks too, almost clueless.
Both Nightingale and MacDonald could've had a bag last night and the difference between winning and losing was Nightingale's right hand.

GI looked unfit and needs to get a lot of km's into his legs before round one. He resembeled a back rower more than a back.

Did anyone notice on the long break that Cookie made that he was unaware that AJ was to his left, AJ would have been in under the posts, the try almost went begging.

The one where Chricton scored anyway?
The pass to Chricton was pretty sketchy but credit where credit due. Cook played well. But there’s still a lot of kinks in his game to iron out.
Let’s see how he goes in the regular season
