Right.
1. Stop talking about Leilua, lazy as hell in defence.
2. Lafai, still making stupid mistakes
3.Nightengale, best in the league from 10m out....last year, if he can't do that anymore, why play him.
4. DeBelin is in Beast Mode.
5. Lomax, if in 10 min he didn't prove he was better than Aitken I'll give it away.
6. AND ITS A BIG 6, The same defensive problems that plagued us last year have not been fixed, HOW HAVE THEY NOT BEEN FIXED???

Would you believe, that’s a pretty smart analysis there, Maxwell. ( sorry for my Get Smart analogy )

The Penrith fans must really detest Hook if he’s shorter odds than McGregor.

I was really hoping we’d be in a better frame of mind as a playing group but lm seeing the same old tricks by the team.

Extremely disappointing overall performance.

What can we expect against the Broncos?

We can only hope better days ahead.
luckily I go in for spinal surgery on the Wednesday, so I'll miss the Broncos game when they kick our ass.

Let’s be serious - Dragons should have won that game by at least 10! Nightingale bombed 2 tries, Lafai passes the ball
To the sideline when he was half a metre over the tryline.. 18 Points just there!
I’m not worried.
Lomax is a gun and the starting right centre
Mann for Nightingale if we want to be serious
Sele into the 17
Simms to start
Leilua to Newtown
Yeah but Loamx won't start till the season is already lost, we know this, we have lived this before.

Well . . . . We did start off in similar fashion last season and walloped the Panthers in round 1 and as Kit66 mentioned there is an upside after these trial games - we are injury free , unlike the Cowboys . The form of our gun players will become more consistent after a few rounds and will hopefully lift the rest of the team . In saying all of this I will also add that the quicker our main problem does a ' Barnaby Joyce ' and resigns ,the quicker our team will go forward .

Tonight should end all the sentimental BS for Nighty. TOO slow.

You didn't notice him outpacing Walker?

Speed wasn't an issue, it was his hands (and poor old, bad luck).

McDonald was far worse. His hit ups were incredibly soft, and it was embarrassing to watch him get constantly driven back in attack

The only reason Hook is shorter odds to go than Mary is based on Gus Gould’s readiness to not accept mediocrity, and move sooner rather than later!

Most of these (if not all of them) have already been covered:

1. Poor line speed all game.

2. Poor attack, particularly in Souths' 20 metre area.

3. There is an enormous gulf between the club's top six forwards, and the reserves. This is exacerbated when 'the coach' replaces Graham and Vaughan simultaneously.

4. MacDonald was totally dominated in all of hit ups...soft! Mann needs to replace him asap.

5. Besides a good kicking game, Hunt was extremely quiet.

6. Dufty doesn't look comfortable taking high kicks.

7. Hooker remains a concern.

8. Such a poorly coached side for all and sundry to see.

9. SGI could really use Dugan in the centres right now.

10. Did Kerr and Nicholls get on? I don't believe they did. Can someone confirm or otherwise?

Luciano missed at least 2-3 tackles that led to tries and gave two ground passes that denied us two certain tries. He dances around like a cream puff ballerina. Lafai has no pace and is an embarrassment. I agree that Mann and Lomax should be our centres. Lomax and Ross need some game time to show their wares. Frizell makes plenty of runs but rarely finds the tryline.

No and neither did Robson.

Who is Ross?

I think DeBelin is missed to the max when ever he is not on the field. I have noticed this a long time ago too. I am still not convinced of Sele either. As many others have already mentioned Vaughn and Graham are missed too, when they go off for a break.

I think Kerr should definitely be in our 17. Definitely ahead of Latimore.

JDB is fantastic. THe few hits he put on were textbook.

Vaughan and Graham are great, but LAM must be in our 17. Again he proved his worth when he came on. Tough runs, great leg drive, a nice off load... just a goer.

Wouldn't write off Sele just yet.

Im much more concerned with our backline that our forwards.

You're right, Ah Mau is quality. He has a simple role but boy does he do it consistently well. Actually think he'd be a terrific union player with that low forward lean.

But we've been here before haven't we? Last year when Lafai was terrible he still kept getting picked, week in ,week out.
As I said, if Lomax didn't prove in the ten minutes he was on he's a better player than Lafai and Aitken I shouldn't be watching football.
Don't get me started about Nene, he's not a first graders ring hole.

Full of 'Concern-Trolls' here... Drawing to conclusions for the rest of the season off a trial match, in 31 degree heat.

Some of the comments here are embarassing - "Widdop is shit, Aitken on the wing" etc. If we score two of the disallowed tries it would be a different tone in here.

I agree defence as a whole was sub-par, especially Luc's left edge. But take into account the gruelling offseason and heat as fatigue sets in. Look at the difference between last years charity shield & round 1.

There were plenty of positives to take out, they created a lot of chances. Just execution - and more time to form combinations & picking the right line-up. We'll be alright, just watch.

Respect that post..
To me Mann ( who was injured ) should be first picked in the backline. Like i said. Our backline is our weak link.

Mann, offers so much in attack and defence.
He is a gun player who has been fooked around from playing positions 1 though 6.
