You know as an old coach myself albeit not NRL one of the most important things that you were responsible for was the identification and development of your young rising talent. It was important that you communicated with them to ensure that your decisions didn't confuse them and most importantly cause them to second guess themselves and lose their confidence. Griffin didn't do that last year and he is certainly responsible for our current predicamentIronically, I thought that Sloan had a worse game yesterday than he did in the swamp last year against the Sharks after which Hook sent him to Coventry so to speak. He looked anxious and was probably trying too hard to impress. He just dug a bigger and bigger hole for himself.
Credit to Hook for now publicly declaring he will be our number one but it may be too late for the two of them as a coach/player team -Hook should have said that last year but wanted Cody. Like everyone I'm willing Sloan to succeed and just hope that he can regain his confidence.
