Ironically, I thought that Sloan had a worse game yesterday than he did in the swamp last year against the Sharks after which Hook sent him to Coventry so to speak. He looked anxious and was probably trying too hard to impress. He just dug a bigger and bigger hole for himself.
Credit to Hook for now publicly declaring he will be our number one but it may be too late for the two of them as a coach/player team -Hook should have said that last year but wanted Cody. Like everyone I'm willing Sloan to succeed and just hope that he can regain his confidence.
You know as an old coach myself albeit not NRL one of the most important things that you were responsible for was the identification and development of your young rising talent. It was important that you communicated with them to ensure that your decisions didn't confuse them and most importantly cause them to second guess themselves and lose their confidence. Griffin didn't do that last year and he is certainly responsible for our current predicament

Hi Guys.

New to the forum. I’d thought I’d start with something different. I’ve written a little poem about the Charity Shield. I need some help with the title. I’m thinking “St.George Can’t Play” or “Cos it’s the same old sh*t just a different day”. Go easy, its all tongue in cheek.

I sat down to watch the Dragons play
In the Charity Shield just the other day
It was played in Mudgee, the town in west
Where those Rascally Rabbits sure put us to the test

It was going to be much better the faithful were told
Cos we’ve got some new coaches coming into the fold
There’ll be no more holes in defence for all to see
But no one told the Rabbits glory glory be

Our attack will be better much more fluid and slick
But all we get is five boring hit ups and then just a kick
What would Langlands Gasnier and Raper have to say
Cos it’s the same old sh*t just a different day

Then there’s the wife’s team the one with the spoon
She reckons it’s coming our way real bloody soon
Was Alfie right when he went on to say
After one of those Grand Finals “St.George can’t play”
Welcome to the Forum Old Westie. You penned a great poem mate - well said old chap!

So two Dragons had a fight late night at Mudgee and could be sacked - possibly the best news all year - depending on who they were - we could clear out two pieces of dead wood.
Shiloh,
sacking 2 players for a verbal a bit harsh . we would have to pay then out
we have Junior amone on technically a serious police charge BUT he remains on the payroll and a top 30 spot

Fine them heavily and if its 2 of hooks pets then maybe look at sacking and give 2 young kids a spot

But seriously "we" need to find out how bad this incident was maybe it was a squabble about who ate the last dim sim at dinner ......

Weidler is a first-class muck-raker.
Two pissed-up footballers have a row at 6:00am!! The horror! It's the end of civilisation, I tells yer!

Mind you, if Rava was involved it's a pity he wouldn't bring something approaching that aggression onto the field with him, rather than walking around for 80 minutes looking like he's wondering where he left his keys.
