The fact there is genuine debate on the forum regarding spots in the back line shows there has been squad depth improvement.

Young guys like Kiti Glymin and Dufty could be knocking on the door this year also
get the feeling glymins hamstrings are gonna hinder his development he did them last year and again this year!

They can use Cutters players for Trials just not in the regular season.

I doubt you'll see many anyway as the Cutters are playing that friday night in a trial of their own.

What's wrong with Frizell??? Still injured???

Souths are missing GI, AJ, Reynolds, Tom, Sam and Grevs so far. Keary and George should play but have been injured.

You guys should win.

I thought Keary was suspended? As for big George, I didn't realise the big fella was injured. Must have picked up an injury to his nether regions posing with his selfie stick again.

As Rabbits20 mentioned, Souths will have a severely depleted side so it won't really be a test of NRL standard. Also, while it's good that Wallace went well last Saturday, it should be treated with caution as it was a trial against a Qld Cup side. Next thing you know he'll be in that high quality All Stars game.

MAYBE.....did anyone else in the team score 3 tries two of which were solo efforts

OMG I've missed Team List Tuesday...

Its been a while between Friday Press Conferences too. Surely we will get one this week. We will all be expecting a bit of Charity Sheild Hype and then Cronk walks out and takes off his Storm Shirt only to be wearing an NwO oops I mean Dragons Shirt.

In all seriousness though whats everyones thoughts on the starting forward pack, obviously JT will come in for Marketo & Friz for Matthews I wonder if the latter are ahead in the pecking order for bench spots come RD 1

Probably Matthews ahead of Lui and Ikahififo at this stage. Or could drop Havili and go 2 of those 3. Really looking forward to our prop rotation though and Mann at FB.

I thought Ikahififo was really good in the 9s with limited opportunities. I would still have Matthews ahead of him but I think he is well ahead of Lui.

Is Blake Wallace not getting a run because he's not contracted to the Dragons and only Cutters?

Yeah, I liked what i saw of ikahififo. Showed some aggression and looks to have some size about him. As you say, Matthews is definitely ahead but both ikahififo and lui could find themselves on the bench if Mary decides to go with 1 hooker for round 1.

Marshall Returns For Charity Shield

Tue 9th February, 04:00PM A A

St George Illawarra Dragons halfback Benji Marshall has been named to face the South Sydney Rabbitohs in the traditional Charity Shield fixture at ANZ Stadium, Olympic Park on Saturday.
Marshall (ankle) is poised to compete in his first trial of the pre-season having been rested from both the NRL Auckland Nines tournament and trial against the Wynnum-Manly Seagulls this past weekend.

Head Coach Paul McGregor has named a 25-man squad for the traditional fixture which also sees Drew Hutchison named as five-eighth and utility Jake Marketo named in the second-row.
Furthermore, new recruit Kurt Mann has been named as fullback for the 33rd annual fixture in lieu of Josh Dugan who has been rested.
The Dragons will be without the services of captain Gareth Widdop and Joel Thompson for the pre-season fixture due to their participation in the annual NRL All-Stars match.
“I’m really looking forward to getting back out there and competing in the Charity Shield this weekend,” said Marshall.
“The Dragons medical staff had opted to rest me from the Nines tournament to allow me some extra time to recover from the off-season ankle surgery but I feel fit and ready.
“The Rabbitohs forward-pack always pose a threat but we have recruited a lot of size and depth within our own squad too and it will be good to see them in action come kick-off.”
