Cheyse At Centre

Knowing how busy this forum gets after a loss, very frequent of late, lets harness this hyper-activity and use it constructively, instead of all the repetitive shit about kearney and what not.
How do you reckon young Cheyse went at plugging the gaping hole that is left centre?

average until he blew them away with his pace in that last try. Still probably our best attacking centre behind tonga & will get better the longer he plays there

Keep him there all season. He doesn't get pushed off tackles and his lateral movement is fairly good. That try was the first time he had the ball in space all game.
One of the few positives out of the game for us.

And this is exactly why he did a WONDERFUL job for us today.

Didn't set the world on fire at all - but didn't stand out with glaring defensive issues.

For mine we can lock in W Tonga and C Blair as centers for a while.

Well we are Slowly getting our players in their best positions..

He should stay there for rest of season Our backline 1-5 should not change again unless injuries occur..

Looked a natural at centre, that last try reminded me of Matt King back in his Storm days.

Big praise - but good call.

Tigers looked fairly disinterested in tackling over the last 10 minutes, so not sure if Moltzen would've made a better attempt in a closer game!

Him,Ryan and Sio have all been positives this season. Throw in Paulo as well.

Ryan was a beast in defense today. He had the better of Adam Blair on a number of occasions - he could be the gap plugger we need on the fringes. I can't believe we hadn't heard of him earlier?

Tigers bloke I was sitting next to thinks that Ryan was awesome for the feeder team last year (is it Ryde Eastwood? I can't remember which team he said).

Seems like a handy find.

Been saying that Blair should be playing centre for the last couple of weeks... Finally the penny drops. As with everything in this organization...it takes time.

Probably better centre than winger (where he showed nothing).

PS did you see the don't argue on Molzten and Molzten's frustration at the end he had had Blair's by the ankles and then rolled him over?

there were people on here whinging about him a fortnight ago but he's been solid as a rock since his debut. He'd probably would be more effective in the back-row though - start him there and push Paulo back to the bench in Lasalo's spot.
Off topic - I nearly dropped my beer when the commentators started talking Lasalo up today. He is deadset f*cking useless.

He did play in the backrow, hindy played prop, with Ryan on the fringes, was just named at prop due to hindy and his beloved number 11 jersey. Similar ploy to what has been happening the last few games with fui being named at prop and playing out wide.

Fair wrap there, but the similarities are there too.

He was good against Reddy thats for sure. He will get better over time - but I can see him being dropped back to wing.

ah well there you go. Well keep him there I reckon! I hope he continues his good form amongst the mess that comprises most of the rest of the team.

Yeah I agree, definitely keep him there, along with keeping Cheyse in the centres, quickest and most effective way to learn and develop their game is by playing first grade, hopefully will pay dividends later on.

I think there were positives because some of the tigers tries were very lucky. Not taking anything away from them but they didnt shut up shop and Tonga, Hayne, MK and Roberts showed their hand.

All I would change for next week is change the pack around and bring sandow back in. So I would go with

Mannah
MK
Poore
Hindy
Fui
Matuia
bench: MaGuire, Ryan, Allgood, Poulo.

so that way we can have our most experienced and best players on early to win the forward battle and we might not be behind at the beginning of every match.
