Lockyer played a good 1st half in the 2004 tri-series final. Then what happened? they all died..... great captaincy. Kimmorley was the man in the games that he played this year in the tri-nations. Atleast kimmorley has a run.

lockyer has been well known for being a great plater. He has been since 1997.
Newcaslte ALWAYS fall asleep in the back end of games. THAT is a well known aspect re the knights. Ask any knowledgable person on league.

what about 1999 when the knights led the dogs by 28 in the 2nd half and LOST. I can list many games where the knights have fallen asleep in the 2nd half

What about in 2003 in the 3rd test? Australia down in the last 5 minutes and who wins the game for Australia? Lockyer. Throws the great pass to DeVere and then sets up the try for Ricketson.

Crocker aint no Daley, Fittler, Lewis....he is Crocker!! Someone with less a passing game than Timmins!!
People have it in their minds that Australia can turn up with any team and win. GB are not mugs, especially at home.

5/8 is not a key position if you have a great half-back........ if you want an example look at newcastle and how many we won with johns at half and rudder at 5/8

The last time Johns played in a final series, we won the competition.

They do. SOO gives them much needed big match experience which comes in very handy when it comes to finals. They whinge and whine saying it makes them tired(but the Broncos never lose without and excuse) but then they go and say that playing Origin before a test match makes the Australian players much better because their bigmatch hardenered. They can't have it both ways.

they made the prelim final without tallis and almost made the GF
Where was newcastle
1992..made the semis the 1st time, not bad
1993..crumbled
1998 (drugs...does hurt doesnt it)
2000 (lead thed the roosters 16-2 and lose ) only newcastle can do that

i was not knocking the guy, all i was saying that he has been injured since 2001. He hasnt played a FULL season since 2000.
His injuries have hampered his career and someone had to take over as captain. That man is Lockyer and he has done a fine job.

So why didn't you say that for ??? Its clear on any other point you have been very outspoken regarding the defence of Lockyer why not this one ???

Walking around with a cast or neck breace is also good leadership
