It's about time that Foxtel started showing games from the pre-NRL era. For many years, Chooseday Night Football was always games post-1998.

Btw, last week or the week before was the famous Knights/Manly game from 1995. Being only 8 at the time, the main things I remembered was the clash where the Chief and Spud went head to head, some Sea Eagles try from the scrum, Nik Kosef's spear tackle on Joey and Terry Hill's send off (for which he got about 6 weeks or so for it). Great piece of nostalgia that was, even though the Knights lost that game. Amazing that nearly 33000 ppl packed into the ground that night.

Correct, last minute tie! First Mon nt game at N.S oval - Foxtel have just advised the match is being screened today!

I'm pretty sure that was the only ever Monday Night game to be played at North Sydney Oval. Funny story about this game on the Sunday Roast a few weeks ago, regarding how Mark Soden stuffed up near the end kicking it out on the full which gave Cronulla that last chance in the dying seconds. At a Bears reunion years later, a bottleshop owner went up to Soden and congratulated him on that, as the owner got $497,000 from the "pick the winner" option at the TAB. lol! I guess as they say, someone's lost is another person's gain.

But yeah, I do remember this game. 15-all was the final score, IIRC.

sorry to be pedantic, but I reckon that would've been "Pick The Margins"

So how come fox "didn't have the rights to it" last night, but do tonight?

Because a bloke with broken English who works at the Foxtel Customer Service said so.. obviously it was a mistake and the customer service bloke didn't know how to respond to the question asked properly. They do have the rights, they showed the wrong game however we get 2 classics now. Everybody wins.

Dont they show the top 2 polling games from Chooseday night every week??

I'm sure that the "classic match" aired on wednesdays or thursdays is always one of the losing Chooseday night games anyway

No they seem to be just showing more games from the 90's on Thursdays.

Normally on Wednesdays they replay the Chooseday Night Football game from the night before plus QLD Cup, NSW Cup & then NRL on FOX.

According to the EPG tomorrow afternoon &night there are 2 old State of Origin games :

4 to 5:30 game 3 from '95
5:30 to 6:30 replay of NRL on FOX
5:30 to 6:30 game 1 from '93

The current Chooseday Night Football poll has game 1 from State Of Origin - '92 '94 & '95.

like when Homer nearly blew up the power plant and everyone thought he was a hero, a good thing happens because of a stuff up

Well glad they stuffed it up just so I could see the old Panthers with Brandy, Freddy, Wiz and Gilly in the 1994 team.

Origin 1 1993 is on in 30 minutes.

Wouldn't mind checking it out - I remember 93 being a good series despite the result.

I was watching this game last night and during the commentary it would switch between Darrell Eastlake and Rabs Warren every 20 minutes. I never remembered it like that?

Also the game seemed to flow much better without the lying down around the rucks and constant appeals for penalities from players playing the ball that we see every game nowadays.

Overall a great game to watch again.
