THE Tigers have landed a pre-match blow on the Bulldogs with news the club is set to re-sign Chris Lawrence and kill off a massive offer from Canterbury. In a major coup on the eve of tomorrow night's blockbuster, The Sunday Telegraph can reveal Chris Lawrence will this week sign a deal with the Wests Tigers worth more than $350,000 a year.
The Tigers reacted swiftly after learning the Bulldogs had expressed interest in the NSW flyer as Canterbury giant Jamal Idris ponders a lucrative offer from the Knights.

Lawrence is the latest big-name player to be taken off the market after fellow centre Shaun Kenny-Dowall signed a lucrative deal to stay with the Roosters last week.
Kenny-Dowall and Lawrence were two of the hottest free agents on the market, with several rival clubs showing interest in the pair.
Kenny-Dowall was being chased heavily by the Warriors, while Lawrence was in the sights of the Bulldogs and at least three other clubs.
The Raiders have also been given a boost on the eve of their clash with the Sharks, yesterday announcing the retention of Tom Learoyd-Lahrs.
The big prop said he had never contemplated leaving the Raiders, who signed him as a youngster from the Broncos.
"It's great to have my future organised before the new season and to stay in Canberra is the right decision for me and, more importantly, my family," Learoyd-Lahrs said. "I want to give back to the club that's given me so much and I believe we're in for a few special seasons.
"For this year it all starts tomorrow against the Sharks and we're looking to get off to a strong start with a win at home."
Raiders CEO Don Furner hailed the signing as a shot in the arm for the club that has for many years struggled to attract star players.
"Tommy is a huge part of our organisation. He's a senior player at the club and a leader," Furner said.
"We're just happy he has decided to stay at the club he's been at for five years now.
"We've shown over the past two years that players who come to the club want to stay at the club and we're building towards a bright future."
