I think Welch will wait to see if Cameron Smith goes elsewhere or retires as there will be more money down there in the pot
You could be right there Banjo. The Storm know that Welch is a solid prop, like we have identified him to be as well. Needless to say, I am sure that if C Smith departs/retires, there will be more money in the coffers for the Storm to offer him an equal or better deal than the one offered by the Dragons. As such, why leave a winning culture?

Do we again pay overs and would that entice him of will he be the same as Suli of Manly not wanting to come to us?

I feel sure that the recruitment staff of the Dragons know exactly what sort of players they are after in the forwards and backs, it's getting them to sign on the dotted line is the problem.

The mistake the Board is making is that they are dragging out the announcement of our new head coach. If Mary would have been sacked earlier and our new coach named immediately afterward, then I believe we would have secured the Suli signing and probably others that we wanted to sign. For goodness sakes, we might have even been able to retain Frizell.

This situation just amplifies that we have the wrong people in charge at our Club.

You don't find a new coach in 5 minutes and two of the four clubs that are looking for a coach have employed our former flops. Not only that the pickings in what you have to choose from are not that great either.

Esan masters has already been told he can look elsewhere one year into cowboys deal. Offers similar out put for half the price. Not saying I'd go there just that there is comparable talent for far less than the overs we were gonna pay for Suli

People on this forum know that I do not have a wrap on James Graham (The "Biter") but we bought him at the end of his career and he was less than impressive to say the least.

Watching the Warriors game at this time and keeping a close eye on Aiden Tolman as I've had all year.

He is unsigned for next season and the silence from Barrett is deafening. He is as ordinary as James Graham.

I guarantee you that the Dragons will sign him - to mentor our younger kids - he will get a job on Fox League and will also be appointed to the (ASX:IHL) Impressive Healthcare advisory board to assist with the development of their medicinal cannabis products.

Agree Banjo , but they also wish to extend Brandon Smith plus a couple of other players so there may not be that much left over for Welch .

He also , Brandon Smith could very well move on should Cameron Smith extends, apparently there are offers on the table for his services , one very busy forward who would not go astray at the Dragons , he is the player that I would be chasing if I was in recruitment.

Brandon Smith.

The issue Welsh has to consider is will he be a starting prop at the Storm?
They have Bromwich and Kamikamica, with NAS, Vete and a couple of youngsters.

Offering Welsh a starting prop role may be a carrot for him.

Yep I'd imagine that's the plan, with Kerr & Blocker off the pine...

Harsh.

We got Graham at the back end of his career when for years our pack was mocked for being soft to the point Willie Mason was "miked up" and called us out.

Yeah he had his brain snaps, but so have many, some of which we call legends.. eg Reddy.

I can understand why we signed Graham. I hope in the little time he had with us he installed a sense of giving it all to the youngsters.

We will not be signing Tolman.

Talking to Owen today. He is fine, thanks for asking. Coming into owl breeding season so he has other things on his mind but he did tell me this.
1. He stated months ago the Uncle Wayne will get the keys to Kograh and he is standing by his story.
2. Welch will stay in Mexico. Loves Bellyache.
3. DeBelin will stay here if the judge let's lets him play.

He reminds me very much of Mr. Perpetual Motion - Ray Price . He never stops , always busy both in defense and attack and is built like a small Sherman tank .

I would gladly donate my my left nut to the Dragons recruitment purse in an attempt to have him wear the Big Red V .
