Yeah my family in general (both sides) is very apathetic about it all, besides my Grandma who is religious. In all her life though she's never said anything about it to me. Oddly enough I'm probably the one with the strongest views on religion in the family. General apathy has bred staunch opposition somehow.

whall, I think you'll find you don't live in a bubble. Whilst there is still a reasonable amount of people who are church / mosque / temple / synagogue etc attenders in Aus, there's a lot who still tick 'Yes' on belief in God yet are 'Christmas Christians', if you follow.

When I worked for JnJ, I was one of 5 people in a 250 odd person office who was a practicing Christian, and there weren't really any practising muslims or Jews.

Also, our parents generation is 'religious' in so far as they still hold 'religious' morals and ethics, but might not practice.

My grandmother on my mother's side was a devout believer in God and Heaven, but I never felt like she had any strong beliefs regarding sexuality or music or personal choice that would have had her condemn any of us.

My mother is religious, but not the 'once a week' kind of person. If I were to tell her I didn't believe in God, I think she'd be sad - but she wouldn't hold that against me.

They're the 'good' kind of Christian. They believe in being good people and they believe in God, but they don't believe that you're a bad person if you don't believe. They're content within their own faith.
