Form what I have read its seems Dal is one of those "still waters runs deep" kind of guys. Realises there's a big world out there and wants to see and experience it. It will be a big loss but we can cover it, our u-20's lock from this year is a DJ clone, except a bit bigger.

BTW he is 27 not 25.

Lowrie will initially replace him.

Sorry if this has been said already, but Terrence Seu Seu to Manly - weird signing for us:-

sportRugby League09 Nov 09 @ 04:59pm by Jason Avedissian
Ex-Sharks hooker Terence Seu Seu has joined Manly for 2010.
MANLY coach Des Hasler is convinced Sea Eagles recruit Terence Seu Seu can knuckle down and resurrect his NRL career over the next 12 months.

The 21-year-old secured a one-year deal at Manly on Monday afternoon.

The contract will give the former Samoan World Cup representative a chance to get his career back on deck.

A little surprisingly, the Sharks did not offer Seu Seu a contract extension following the 2009 NRL season.

But Hasler is certain, coupled with some good old-fashioned hard-work, the Newcastle junior can rediscover his best at Manly next year.

“He’s not a bad little signing for us,” the 2008 Manly premiership-winning coach said.

“He will be a good back up to (hooker) Matt Ballin.

“He’s also got attributes to his game that we can benefit from.

“He’s very quick out of dummy half and we really think, once we get him into the system here at Manly, he can really improve.”

Seu Seu made his NRL debut for Newcastle in 2007, playing 10 games in his maiden year.

He was later cut from the club for a range of off-field indiscretions, casting some doubts over his future in the game.

The Auckland-born hooker joined the Sharks in 2008, going on to play a further 31 top grade games.

But again the Sharks could not accommodate him beyond this year, freeing him to sign with the Sea Eagles.

Hasler said the 2008 World Cup representative can find his best form at Narrabeen over the coming year.

“He’s learned some hard lessons, Hasler said.

“Provided he’s got the work ethic, he will get heaps out of training at Manly.”

Stagg isn't in the class of DJ atm. Stagg has failed at rep level before.

What ... one game for Queensland? If you don't get MOTM in your first game at State of Origin level are you written off for the rest of your life?

This type of analysis of players is just so pathetic. Go back to your hole.

If you haven't noticed sometimes all it takes sometimes is one bad game especially in representative games where there is more at stake. Particularly when you have others competing for the same position, one Ashley Harrison has been successful at origin level already. Another Luck who has been good for the last few seasons. Hell even Corey Parker might get a run in front of him.

Qld are also renown for staying loyal to those who have played well before. So what did I say wrong?

Stuart Flanagan signs with Sharks for season 2010 after release from Raiders
By staff writers
November 11, 2009
Stuart Flanagan has signed with Cronulla for season 2010, in a move which he believes will give him the chance to get his career back on track.

Flanagan joined fellow Sharks teammates at a training session on Monday, and looked comfortable going through his paces at the Barden Ridge Sports Complex.

After suffering a shoulder injury at the start of last season, the hooker quickly fell out of favour with the Canberra Raiders, playing in lower grades towards the end of 2009, ending with his early release from a three-year-deal with the club.

"It will give him an opportunity to get his career back on track after falling out of site over the last couple of years," coach Ricky Stuart said.

"His ability out of dummy-half as an attacking player is great and is something we will be looking for throughout next season," Stuart said.

Flanagan has been training with the side for several weeks but only signed on Monday.

Panthers sign Burns from Cowboys

November 12, 2009 - 3:04PM
AAP
Penrith have signed former Manly five-eighth Travis Burns from North Queensland, taking their number of off-season signings for the 2010 NRL season to five.
Burns has agreed a two-year deal and Panthers chief executive Michael Leary said he was delighted to have secured the services of the 25-year-old Queenslander.
"Travis is a specialist five-eighth and brings great experience to our halves. His recruitment bolsters an area where we have been particularly lean in past seasons," said Leary.
Burns joined the Cowboys in 2007 after making his first grade debut for Manly in 2005.
Penrith have already added Wests Tigers forward Daine Laurie, Parramatta hooker Kevin Kingston and Canberra pair Nigel Plum and Adrian Purtell to their ranks for the new campaign.

Pretty happy with this signing. Travis Burns is experienced, has a bit of mongrel in him and can defend pretty well. I would be using this signing as an opportunity to shift Wade Graham to halfback and send Luke Walsh to Windsor. Luke Walsh is a good little halfback, but his defence is a massive liability. Graham is a f*cking unit and wasn't scared to put his body on the line despite having a pretty bad shoulder injury that could have put him out for the season if he did any more damage.
