Kiwi internationals Sam Perrett and Shaun Kenny-Dowall have both resigned multiyear contracts to remain at the Sydney Roosters.

Sam Perrett has resigned for another 4 years keeping him at the club until the end of 2012. Sam had one of his best seasons in 2007 culminating in selection in the Kiwi test team late last year. On Sunday, Sam played his 50th game for the Roosters in the Heritage Round game at Gosford.

Shaun Kenny-Dowall has extended his contract for another two years to keep him a Rooster until the end of 2011. Shaun debuted for the Roosters in 2007 and won a wing spot in the Kiwi and All Golds teams at the end of last season.

Brad Fittler says it is great news for the Club.

“They are both fantastic young talent and will be great assets to the Roosters in the coming seasons.

Both quality footballers who have yet to reach their full potential. Good effort by the Roosters there.

Roosters still have the issue of Fitzgibbon, Shillington, Brown & Roberts off contract this year, & Soliola, Myles, Sa, M Aubusson and Nuuausala off contract next year.

Fitzy will retire or go to ESL, Shillington to the Dogs, they will retain Brown and let Amos go elsewhere. In fact they were close to offloading Amos last year. Fitzy will be a big loss for them, but the other two they could do without.

2010 will be the kicker for them though. I'm sure they will offload one of their high profiles before then to keep some of the younger blokes coming through. I would imagine that Mini will pull the pin himself should he have another injury and although he probably won't go this year, I can't imagine O'Meley being there in 2010.
