No, I rate Micky Paea. He is better than some of the forwards at the club presently and with Turner, Costigan and Weyman out, it isn't such a bad idea.

If true, a decent signing but i think we've nabbed the wrong Paea... Lopini is the money Paea
still with Logan struggling with a re occuring neck injury and almost certain to retire at seasons end, along with Weyman suspended and maybe not at this stage being re-signed. He's a good investment

Rumor is that Canberra are going to make an offer to David Shillington also

<H2 id=story>Panthers re-sign Grant for three years
April 09, 2008
PENRITH have re-signed promising prop Tim Grant until the end of the 2011 NRL season.
Grant, a 20-year-old local junior, made 11 appearances for the Panthers in his debut season last year.

He is currently battling an ankle injury which is expected to keep him out for at least another month.

"Although currently sidelined through injury, the club is confident that Tim will push his way into being a regular first grader," Panthers chief executive Michael Leary said.

"Tim is a very good local junior and once the injury has healed we look forward to seeing him force his way into the team from round 10.&#8221;

Grant represented NSW from under 17s to 19s.

Great news.

Grant is held in hugh regard at Penrith. He is a great bloke, loves the Panthers and i have no doubts he will be a future captain.

Currently in the leadership group with Petero,Puletua and Priddis at just 20 years of age.

Grant,Jennings,Waddell and Siejka all with the club long term. Finally looks like we are heading in the right direction.

I notice you didn't mention surely the most vital cog in that leadership group... Nathan Smith.

Mickey Paea might be good but unless he can play in the front row we are going to find it hard fitting him into our 17.
