It is nice for the team to get some genuine plaudits from opposition fans. I’ve read plenty of comments on social media saying how we’ve been lucky with the draw, unconvincing in some games and how we’ll be found out in the finals, but not so many simply congratulating this young and talented team on a stellar record breaking regular season.

I’m not taking Parra lightly because we’ve seen what they are capable of doing at different stages of the year and they showed flashes of it tonight.

Please, do not take this the wrong way, we should have remain undefeated, the previous game was lost due to a 10 minute lapse of concentration.

A sustained period of possession starvation led to errors which proved costly. I'd say Parra deserved to win. They controlled the game well in the second half. We should have been further in front. It's ancient history now anyway.

They've had notable injuries which has hampered Parra's run. Good on em if they end up in the top 4 with two bites at the cherry if they lose in week 1.

I know Parramatta hasn't set the world on fire for a few months, and we had little ball against Penrith - but the aggression, intensity, and speed with which Penrith played proved (at least to me) that the Panthers are the real deal.

And seeing so many Panthers players that (and please understand that I don't mean any disrespect by this) are above average First Graders, but not world beaters, playing so well...it shows that Cleary's system is doing great things.

Last year, many people thought Nathan Cleary was talented, but one-dimensional - he has elevated his game this year, and he is probably the form halfback of the NRL.

If the Eels can't win the title (and we won't), I will be riding the Panthers bandwagon hard, because I simply love the style of footy you play.

Also, I love that Jerome Luai - quality little player.
