I don’t think Trav is saying Cam Mc is a future immortal. He’s saying his stats are approaching Cam Smith’s stats, who is a future immortal.
Well I disagree!

Go take a look on sporting news Australia!!

They just announced an origin side based on form who Freddy could very well pick and Cook is the hooker!

StGI and Souths have only played twice since Cam joined and all the Saints fans i know wouldn't swap McInnes for anyone.

Cook ran more than Cam last round but averaged 4.5 post contact metres per tackle break, 3m per run compared to Cam getting 11 per tackle break and 5.5 per run.
Cam had 10 more tackles, 3 more 1v1 and both missed 1 each.
Neither had an assist of any form.
I wouldn't say one outplayed the other. Cook was better running, McInness was better tackling. StGI won. Make of that what you wish.
I'm counting the Charity Shields too!

Cam ran 29 measly metres and had no impact on the game at all!

Cookie had a big impact and was our best player! If he had support when he made that break we could've won! A Blues player in origin would've supported him!

Cookie had 3 offloads, 6 tackle breaks, 1 line break, 38 of 39 tackles, 9 for 117m and no errors or penalties!

Mcturtle had 0 offloads, 1 tackle break, 0 line breaks, 46 of 47 tackles, 2 for 29m and 1 penalty given away!!

It's clear who had the better game!!!

The game at the SCG last year in round 22 Cook had a blinder!!

Lol. Am i wrong though?
X-factor is great but it's usually a nice way of saying inconsistent. While it brings some great moments and passages of play, it rarely equates to success.
I like both Cook and McInnes, obviously two completely different styles of player.

6 tackle breaks and a line break for 27 post contact metres. 3 offloads for 0 assists.
Quantity stats but not much quality.

Cam's game couldn't have been that bad seeing as his team got up and are 5-0

He's overrated and being made look better than he is

Because he doesn't inflate his stats?
I'd rather Api, Isaac or Cook over Mcturtle any day!

In fact for those saying Isaac is so much better defensively than he isn't. He's tackling at 88.3 percent efficiency. Oh so does that make him too shit too play for NZ again as his efficiency is below 90percent??

So the 3 guys I mentioned have an efficiency tackling of between 86-88 percent but what they bring elsewhere is much greater than Mcturtle will ever bring!

Trav you are being blinded by tackling only!

In fact we would be 1-4 with Mcturtle! For what Cookie did at the end of that Dogs match with his quick passes and running out a bit tompass to Cody to help get that last try rolling Mcturtle couldn't have!

So would you have rather been 1-4?? The metres that Cook runs well take 100m away and have Mcturtle there!!! Where do the other metres come from??? They don't come from nowhere!!!!'our forwards have been buggered already!

Where does the attack and spark come from Mcturtle??? It doesn't happen. In fact he's what will probably stop them from winning it!!! FACT!!

McInnes is so bad in attack that he is the starting 9 for the highest scoring team in the comp...

Mcturtle must be better than Isaac you're implying with your BS methodology

AR the other said Cook is similar to Isaac!

Travitoh the fact you didn't answer my question shows you're clutching at straws!

Where does those extra 100m come from??

They don't just appear!

Cook being given free reign is great and a masterstroke by Seibs!

The others do it not him

But you've said before that he stifles the attack yet there he is playing for the highest scoring team after 5 rounds.

And based on your logic, Cam Smith has never been as good as Cook is.

Cook is similar to Luke in the way he runs out of dummy half, that has never been debated. In fact it's often been said, myself included, that he is the best fit for our current set up because of this. The reality of it though that while he is a good player in his own right, Cook is a bandaid solution for the loss of Luke.

I couldn't tell you where as without Cook we'd most likely be set up differently and if another coach over saw the transition of Luke leaving, we very well could be.
However, StGI don't have an issue winning without Cook's 100 metres. In fact, they've run 200 less than Souths this season but it doesn't seem to be hindering them at all.

Souths have more runs and more metres than StGI yet less post contact metres and points.

Quality>Quantity
