Not a pot smoker, I just don't have rigid views on the world.

Seven weeks out of the game won't kill him, that's exactly right, it might hurt his game and his confidence though, It's obvious some form of suspension is going to happen, I just don't think the remainder of the season is necessary, That's just my view.

His actions have brought the game into disrepute. I think seven weeks is definitely appropriate for someone who has been in trouble for a drug offence as well as his other actions this season.

Provided if the NRL look at the other video that involves a player at a another club that player gets a simliar punishment then I'm fine with it, I'm only not fine when different players get different punishments for Sinliar things like seems to happen with the match review people.

Forget the apologists Norman will not play again this season. Who would have thought that Foran, Norman, Semi, Peats and Junior Paulo all in the media for the wrong reasons. Combined with the salary cap scandal and the first board ever been outed by the govt is a world first. Yet some here want to go all soft and give Corey a chance. The guy is a irresponsible f**kwit. He f**ked up when we needed him most. Arthur has obviously struggled with keeping some players in line off the field. Discipline and a change of culture must start now.

Is that all that matters? You want your kids looking up to someone like Corey? Do we as a club accept this type of behavior as long as we win games? If you do you are no different to the dysfunctional board that just got the arse.

Corey f**ked up no doubt, but I don't think it's trivialising his behaviour by not wanting him castrated, hung & left to die..

Sit him out for this week, slap him with a $50k fine with $20k suspended and move the f**k on...

My kids will know that I think professional athletes are all f**kwits. They are there to entertain us, not show us how to live.

Agreed. The board were in charge of a team whose job it is to compete against other clubs spending more than the salary cap. The whole thing is a game, and from my point off view the only thing we did wrong was getting caught.

$850 for an ILLEGAL substance and get on with life?
Obviously the fine is nothing to him but the recording of a conviction has much more serious consequences and more often than not this does not happen on a first offense and quite often a second and a third offense.
If you want to argue that the law is soft on everyone then that is a completey different argument and certainly one with merit. Compared to most first time drug offenses though his punishment was at the high end

I'd be more concerned about the people raising children who don't set a good role model so the kid has to rely on a professional athlete for that job.

I like to think that I am a good role model for my children. They are parra fans and big fans of Corey Norman. What are their thoughts on him now? That he is an idiot that has done something stupid but that he is still a good player. Why? Because my wife and I have taught them the downfall of abusing drugs so they don't have to rely on a footy player to set the example for them

I'm not calling for him to be sacked or run out of the club.

I'm just saying... lower the offer we made to him earlier in the year (which was not high enough for him to accept at the time), include some behavioural conditions in his next contract, and don't get into a bidding war if another club wants to offer him more and he wants to take it.

He's a good player, but it's not like he's irreplacable. We've replaced Foran with Robson, so I'm sure we can replace Nroman with someone else if need be.

I agree with this.

There is a way to be firm about behaviours and send a message to Corey without completely cutting off your own cock and ultimately disadvantaging yourself.

Imo kids should be kept in line by their parents; the first people they should look up to should be their own parents, and then they can look externally to other figures.

I just find this idea that public figures are role models and ergo cannot be human and err a bit naff.

Yes, kids woll invariably look up to public figures - but I believe it is parents' responsibility to make the kids pull their heads in and realise that they aren't always the best people to emulate.

Assuming the kids have good role model parents

Dad could be a drop kick, mum a Centrelink princess, who knows.

I teach my kids not to look up to sportsmen and women unless they have done something worth admiring.
The scary thing is that kids without good role models at home will transfer their admiration to sportspeople and other 'celebrities'. There has to be some accountability.
