You hear of this type of incident all the time, yet idiots still have punch Ups at the pub. Just walk away FFS.
I can remember the bravaro from when I was young, but seriously anyone over 23 or so should know better.

Even on the footy field we all cheer on a stink, but what if someone got punched and didn't get back up.

It will be reduced to manslaughter, he'll get five, be out in three.

I always thought John Hopoate would get that gong before anyone else.

Field is an egg.

Sounds like a great scenario. Two blokes laying into a 51 year old. Commiserations to the family of the victim and Fields kids.

Worst case scenario for Field, 5 years for manslaughter, out in three.

Who would have thought Craig Field would beat Hoppa for that gong.

He won't be charged with murder, manslaughter worst.

We need to find out the whole story before making assumptions. It could be a case of a typical mouth, kind of like most of you soft merkins, starting a fight? Or Field could have started trouble. We don't know until we get all the facts, but by all means don't let that stop any of you rodents from regurgitating whatever the tabloids say..

LOL I know that's the law but still f**king stupid.

It was the same with Malcolm Naden earlier this year. He gets arrested and his face is being blurred. Too bad his face was being splashed all over the news for months dipshits.

A question for you David Middleton-types out there:

Is this the first time a current or former NRL player has appeared in court on a murder charge?

According to the ABC news just now it is a murder charge - not manslaughter.

FMD, you need to write a 100 page novel on why and how you're going to knock someone off before a murder charge is handed down in our pathetic courts. I agree with you re. not knowing what happened, but if you clock someone you are going out there to do damage and you have to deal with whatever consequences come your way. Like the poor bloke from the highlands who got killed in the cross last week-the scum that did it wanted to do serious damage and murdered him.

It appears to be pretty common these days that members of the public like
to hassle former players to get a reaction. The bloke who tried to wind
up Benji is a classic example.

Nobody knows yet whether Craig Field was targeted in such a manner,
but one way or another this has been coming for some time. There was
a time in Australia when the public used to respect the privacy of
public figures, but with the Americanisation of Australia we have lost
this valuable part of our culture.

If you bother public figures for a reaction, and you get you lights punched
out and killed, then so be it.
