My advice to you lot is to avoid cocaine tablets at all costs. I always thought John Hopoate would end up behind bars before Field.

A question for you David Middleton-types out there:

Is this the first time a current or former NRL player has appeared in court on a murder charge?

Willie Tonga 2011.

The amount of over laps with KFFL in the open he murdered was atrocious.

His 3 year sentence to Parramatta was just deserved IMO...........

A player who was almost murdered
Bobby Lulham's (Tigers and Kangaroos 1950s) mother in law tried to poison him with thalium. The stupid bugger was doing the mother and daughter at the same time.

My lasting memory of Field was him dressed as Dame Edna for the Man O Man Footballers Special.

Just shocking news.

I've got two lasting memories of the accused. Firstly getting poleaxed by Mark Glanville (?) while playing for Manly and secondly calling a journalist an egg at a lol@50uff$ press conference.

Fair enough. I don't know why you'd give your money to those wood ducks, though. You may want to become a member of Civil Liberties Australia. They carry a lot more weight if civil liberties interest you and the publications are better.

I only took the time to join recently, after the police murdered the guy with the taser
in the city for stealing biscuits. I will look into that, as I certainly want my financial
contribution going to the right place.

Your money would be better spent with CLA then. But don't swallow everything they feed you, sometimes they love to bash-up on the cops just for the sake of it. Keep an open mind with them.

Les Mara, Murdoch and Craig Field all played for Balmain in some capacity.
Murdoch's career was sidetracked. It was a gentle dig at some of the dubious
folk that have frequented a club I used to support.
Gently dig at your brain with a shovel.

Cops are by and large lying turds

ACAC, I'd rather my kid grow up to play AFL and join the KKK rather than be a cop

It's sad that people think that. I don't know if it's 100% true. But when you think about the people they are dealing with, well I can see why they may resort to underhanded means. How many of the scumbags we want off the streets tell the truth? Most of the time you hear people getting stitched up by the police, they aren't clean anyway. Got to giggle a bit when some sh!tbag crim claims they have been unfairly dealt with. The pot calling the kettle black and all that.

Have to remember the police don't deal with people like you and me. If someone feels that they are continually being unfairly treated by the police, then maybe they should have a look at the things they are continually doing. Gaols are full of people who reckon they got stitched up.

I've got to say I'd rather my kid was cop than in the KKK.
