a draw WILL secure us a spot. unless japan win by 3 or more

i don't think even think Japan could beat the Brazil under 17 side by 3 or more

i think Harry will start on the bench. otherwise, Cahill. i'd bring Bresciano back in now and watch him fire up.

i'd go with

Schwarzer
Emerton
Moore
Neill
Chipperfield
Grella
Culina
Cahill
Bresciano
Sterjovski
Viduka

4-2-3-1

2009. v Vanuatu, Solomon Islands, PNG and a small, furry animal named Norman.

No doubt they will again finish behind perennial Oceanian champions and world powerhouses Solomon Islands.

Stuff playing for the draw, Guus will have us fired up for the win!
Best way to do it. We can't invite Croatia into it and looking to the draw will do that.

Go out to win and have the draw as a fall back.

We will score 3 goals against the Croatians? hmmm I don't think so if Brazil couldn't do it don't think we can. However Robert Kovac will be a big loss for them he is one of their generals at the back. Anyway it is advantage us because we aren't the ones that need to win, expect Croatia to become really desperate in the 2nd half if they haven't scored by then. The Roos to go through to the round of 16 with a 1-0 victory.

I love it if the Croats went goalless throughout the tournament. Especially seeing as we can't lose if that's the case!

Oh dear, we've got Graham Poll as the ref.

Can't be any worse than the gimps we had in the first two games Macca. Plus he regualrly refs half these players in the ESL!

I would not know. I think I have watched like 3 EPL games in the last 4 yrs. I watch Seria A. If he refs the EPL, it could suit our more physical style of play!

go all out for a couple of goals
i would use a 4-3-3

shawartzer
Neill Moore Chipperfield Emerton (attackin defensive lol)
Grella Bresciano Sterjovski
Kewell Thompson Viduka

and the 3 subs would be cahill, cullina and aloisi

2nd senerio would be if its 0-0 or 1-0 look for guus to bring on cahill and aloisi exactly how he did to the japs

3rd senerio is if where up 10-15 to go bring on lazaridis for experience too cool people heads down so we dont go off and lose the game

LETS DO THIS FOR JOHNNY

Just out of curiosity Locky, how do you gain access to Serie A matches? ESPN? Online?

I might be tempted to watch a few matches next season if i can...as long as they're not fixed!

English referee is good...he'll let the physical aspect go on more.

But yeah, Poll is a wanker.

You're joking aren't you? [re Croatia being about the weakest European time]

No, apart from them being in your group, why do suggest otherwise?

Bob, Croatia were unbeaten in their qualifying group including beating Sweeden twice, something England couldn't do.

Edit: Something England haven't been able to do in their last 11 meetings stretching over 20 years, at least!!

graham poll with suit us perfectly. well as perfect as a referee can.

it's not so much the "freindships" with the players, it's the experience with the same sort of tackles that will ensure we only get about 15-20 fouls against us

and i wouldn't be surprised if he produced a yellow card for diving. for either side.

and is it just me, or does anyone else have a feeling that we might see skoko start tonight? obviously match wise he wouldn't be the best option, but maybe they'll bench sterjovski, push culina to support viduka and have skoko with grella in front of the back 3 or 4

Chippers isn't really a defender, is he?
