Have to say without both Sargent and Cross our forward pack does not look that great...

If they are both out my confidence level in the Knights winning the first few rounds has significantly dropped.

For all our other failings we are great starters. I can't remember the last time we lost in rd 1, but am certain it wasn't before 03.

Keep in mind the weakness of our pack and team at the beggining of last year, we're still looking alright, both Sarg and Cross should be back without too much delay.

We got belted 48-10 in 2005.

With Joey playing too.

Thinking the exact same thing. You know the religion teacher in Donnie Darko? Karmawave reminds me of her.

You guys have been so welcoming and charming!

Isn't any other Knights fan frustrated that an injury can go undiscovered for 6 weeks?!

If it wasn't such a serious thing, it would be funny.

Anyway, what is it with this forum so far, is it some sort of Police State?

Or is it just a matter of getting in with the clique?

Agreed, Cross got smashed quite a few times by 3-4 players, but also got a few good runs in.

It's just a forum, which I whole heartedly welcome you to. There isn't a clique, just the majority of us have been here for awhile, and as such, stay away from capitals, exclamation points, a bubbly disposition or too much insistence.

I'm just kidding man, welcome.

Welcome to the forum.

All i can think of with the injury is that Cross must have had a greenstick or hairline fracture that felt like a sprain and he must have made it a lot worse for it to need pinning now.
If it has to be pinned it is virtually a new fracture so it will take at least 6 weeks and probably some rehab time to build up his arm again, but the good news is that he will still be able to run so shouldn't lose too much fitness.

The best thing about this forum is that you will find out very quickly where
people stand on certain matters, Player/Positions/Coach etc.

Not too much mincing of words around here, Knights fan or not.

But that is a good thing IMO.

Anyway Welcome.

The Newcastle Herald reported that initial X Rays after the injury didn't show any fracture or break, which explains the delay.

When the initial X Ray didn't reveal anything, Dr Neil Halpin believed it was some type of sprain. When this didn't heal, an MRI scan was used which revealed the break.

It went on to say Cross will be in plaster for 2 weeks, and the injury is a 4 to 6 week injury overall.

Lets hope its closer to 4.

Cheers everyone for the welcomes. I am glad I found a forum where Knights fans gather. The other place I came across was totally dead

As far as where I stand, I can state that so far I have a few worries about our coach, a few more about the standard of some of our players, and that positions may not mean a thing if everyone continues to have injuries misdiagnosed for 6 weeks

And while we aren't mincing words, I can say that I have a major problem with Knights management, marketing and promotion staff, the quality of the half time entertainment in 2007 and the standard of the Knights official website which is a total embarrasment! ;-)

where did this talk of pinning it come from then - you only pin a displaced fracture - not a little crack.

The Newcastle Herald reported it is a cracked Scaphoid bone, and a screw will be inserted on Friday during surgery.

Ben Cross is the one who stated 4-6 weeks, but then again maybe he is being a tad optimistic.
