I think it wil be interesting to see what happens to Melbourne crowds now that S15 is over - I think that in places where AFL is supreme there is probably some crossover between RL and RU fans
How much are the concorse seating in the eastern grand stand? had reserved signs on all the gates but no security lol.
Should be on the up. I reckon we'll see 20k against the Broncos:
- playing a decent side
- Friday night
- not competing with a big AFL game (just Saints v Crows)
- plenty of Brisbane expats in Melbourne
- 7 weeks since our last home game so the fans will be hungry
I doubt they will repeat the 'schedule as many Storm home games as possible during the S15 season so the Rebels have some competition' strategy next year, it hasn't worked well at all. Basically down here RL fans will attend RU but the union snobs do not reciprocate.
The end 3 bays on the top and bottom decks are GA ($24 by the way), that might be part of the reason, but you'd still expect staff to be standing at the top of the more central bays!

7 weeks? That's crazy. You lose all momentum with crowds, but also as a team playing away from home for so long. Not that it seems to have affected their playing much.
There was staff on the middle one and it said reserved seating on all 3 gates, so we went in the third one and walked up to the 40m line.
Amazing stadium. Good crowd for a monday, but seriously, the new-cas-tle chant is f**king gay.

If next week is promoted well, we should see some great crowds.
I like the chant, not sure how a chant could have any sexuality about it nonetheless a homosexual sexuality but it's not a poor chant in any way.
I'd be disappointed if the Eels/Panthers game wasn't near a sell out, given it's Hindmarsh's 300th.
Whoever scheduled that draw should be shot. Too many home games clumped together so early in the year often leads to people being choosy about what games they may want to watch.
I am sure it won't happen next year.
I think Penrith vs Parra will break the ground record again this weekend.
