Even if both remaining Broncos home games sell out, the average will still be a couple of thousand less than last year.

The average is down by 5000 at the moment. Although I think poor scheduling has been a large part of the drop.

Yeah but i think its nit-picking to say our crowds are down when last year was arguably our best year since entering the comp and we will only be about 1500 down on that making it our third best year ever.

And before you argue about 93, 94 and 95 they were the first 3 years of ANZ Stadium and for the ANZ years particularly early on 15000 to 20000 free tickets were given out each week.

Broncos crowds would get bigger with a new team in Brisbane. There is nothing for those poor sods to compare themselves to or hang over other people; they all follow the one team, so they don't get the chance to show pride in supporting a team by being able to lord it over others in their lives.

Remember that one of the Bronco's home games last year was a double header so it shouldn't be as high as it is. After the next two games we should go pretty close to last years average which is a pretty good effort considering the floods and two of our highest drawing games were either straight after Origin or we fielded almost a reserve grade side.

would it be fair to say that low expectations had an affect on the crowds at the start of the year?

Sacking the coach in the pre-season and having a lot of young kids didn't set the scene for such a successful season

Maybe for the first few rounds, particularly after losing to the Cowboys in R1.

It wasn't a very good excuse once we won 7 in a row coming into the game against Melbourne and that only got 34k (the day after the Anzac test).

There sponsors would be celebrating though.

yeh that's the funny thing boxes are worth a lot more income than seats! Saw some financial modelling around the new nib stadium development and what the corporate sales aspect will be worth, the stadium would need to avg over 40K fans to bring in the same amount of income from ticket sales as the 80 corporate boxes will do!

The coaches decision to rest players after Origin and Test matches, whilst it has proved to be a masterstroke in terms of the team's performance, it has killed some of their crowds.

That Broncos v Storm game would have got 40K if Griffin had named a full strength side.

I'm sure that same policy, whilst it wasn't enforced kept some people away from pre-purchasing tickets to the Dragons match.

There will be no tickets sold at the gate tomorrow, Cowboys are urging people to buy today. So it's heading towards a sellout.

Panthers match should be on track for a decent crowd as well.

Eastern Terrace - Single Seats Only
Western Terrace - Single Seats Only
Western Grandstand - Single Seats Only
Eastern Grandstand - Selling into the corners.

Here's hoping for a strong walk up so the GA areas are also full. We need a good start to this round, so if we could get 45K between the two matches tomorrow night it would be great.

There is 4 rounds (32 games) remaining for the season.

For this seasons crowds to pass the record total of 2010 then in the remaining games we need to draw another 566,250 fans. That is an average of 17,695 fans per game.

In 2005 the NRL had a record average crowd per game of 16,468. With four rounds to go this season the average crowd stands at 16,148. If we are to break the 2005 record we would have to average 18,068 per game for the remaining games.
