It's a poor crowd buts its not like anyone pulls massive crowds against an out of town team on a monday night.

Hopefully things pick up during the year.

After 4 rounds crowds this season are slightly down on the same period last season.

This round drew a total of 134,464. Which gives a season to date total of 571,732. Compared to last seasons total of 573,179.

It is a drop of 1,447 or .25 percent.

which is a shame due to the massive start we had

We have fallen slightly behind but that's nothing to worry about. This round last year was the Easter weekend, which led to bigger than usual crowds.

I'm still confident we will be comfortably ahead by seasons end.

If you took out crowd figures for round one this season and last and just looked at the crowds for rounds 2-4 for this season the figures look rather disappointing. This season it reads 371,427 which is way down on the figure for 2010 which was 407,175.

Its early days for season 2011 and things should get better.

Crowd in Newy was the disappointment of the round...Shoulda been closer to 30k.
Heaps of seats in the top middle tier of the AJ stand n sparsely populated lower tier of the new western

Hopefully with the bulldogs/saints blockbuster and a broncos game this week we see some big crowds. The tigers and cowboys may also get decent crowds.

Hopefully the storm can get a little better than what we have done so far.

It's good that 11,500 is now considered disappointing at Melbourne. Wasn't that close to their average back at Olympic?

AFL is down by a lot more than that. The Swans "blockbuster" on the weekend drew only 28,000 odd. I can remember when their big games at ANZ drew 65,000.

28K was a shocking crowd for the Swans at ANZ! The match was advertised EVERYWHERE! On all FTA TV stations, Radio, Billboards, newspapers etc.

I can see the SCG game attracting a near sellout given a fine day
( which is whats forecast )
Broncos won't do much better then the crowd they attracted last Friday
25K odd
Tigers should crack 20K ... maybe even 25K
Friday Nights are no good for the Cowboys ... a large portion of their fans travel large distances to games from surrounding areas ... & do this on saturdays because they have time to get there ... but can't if they finish work at 5pm on a Friday .... so they stay put & watch it on telle
12K for that one
& the same for the Storm ... about 12K

the Storm will attract a decent crowd V the Warriors on Anzac day night at AAMI.. 20K plus for sure
& might even nudge a sellout .. if they get some traffic come over after the AFL clash from across the road.

2011 season has been a bit of a let down for crowds apart from the odd one hear.Watching all 6 games on Premier Sports and apart from the Souths v Manly game al the other shown games had heaps of empty seats which to an newcomer or passing observer to the sport would think that the game is not very popular.

Should we be happy with the NRL being a highly rated TV product alongside blockbuster games getting the big crowds or would you like to see people filling those empty seats.
I can not work out the problem as Rugby League deserves great crowds week in week out.
