Very noisy crowd tonight.

The cringeworthy recordings of Thaiday and Hodges on the big screen encouraging the crowd to "Make some noise" actually seemed to make the crowd do just that on cue tonight. Previously this year they have had no effect, and just looked a bit cheesy.

Its cringe worthy because they have no real enthusiasm when they say it, the "we will rock you" beat is sick when it comes on at the right time though.

The people and NRL need to pressuring the NSW govt to include public transport to all games. They do it in other cities, in fact most Govt's are very keen for people not to drive to events.

Does that include members?

If you read the link it says

"Todd Greenberg said: "We expect Bulldogs Members and fans will turn out in force for our next two ANZ Stadium matches - the reciprocal rights away game against Parramatta and a home game against Souths - so for them to be able to travel by public transport to Olympic Park as part of their match ticket is an added bonus"

How about Graham Annesley does something about this free public transport thing now he is sports minister.

After 5 rounds:
2010 - Total 703,302 ave: 17,582
2011 - Total 717,423 ave: 17,936
An increase of 2%
By this time in 2010 the Easter round has already been played so I suspect the increase will be greater after the next two rounds

The argument has never changed, the SFS is in a bad locations for families and Rugby League is mostly an family event.

The facts are:
- Crowds at the SFS are disappointing
- There must be a reason for it
- There hasn't been a better suggested reason for it.

Crowds at the SFS have been fine this year. The one disappointing crowd was a rain ruined Sunday Arvo match between roosters/manly which was a shame as dry weather would have seen a significant increase due to the family day celebrations the club had going.

As Adam has said, you seem to want it both ways. When there is a low crowd it’s “roosters have no supporters” and then when it is revealed that no away fans turned up it’s “SFS is hard to get to”.

I'm talking about over the years, also the crowds at the SFS this year have been ok without being good.

I don't think i have ever said the roosters have no fans and for it to not be tongue in cheek. However, even if they did have no fans the transport to their stadium should be top notch to get as much away supporters in there as possible, but they do have fans and their crowds are still slightly disappointing over the years.

Thanks Timmah.

Anyone know what the average was the same round last year? A shade under 18,000 after 4 rounds seems to be very healthy.

RD5 last year averaged 16,265. With the largest attendance being GC v Melb 20,083.

Also the sydney average by round 5 last year was (405,101) 16,205 and this year it is (349,761) 17,488 albeit with 5 less games played this year in the metro area.

You have taken 1,000 away from the broncos crowd.

What source, other then peoples memories of the game, shows the crowd was 24k and not 25k?

I think foxsports and NRL.com has 25k up.

I don't mind being questioned but don't have a go at me and try to suggest I deliberately have taken away from a crowd. I don't just make figures up to stick here.

For the record: http://live.nrlstats.com/matches/nrl/match6421.html
Crowd:
24522
Just to satisfy your highness: http://www.dailytelegraph.com.au/sp...e-denies-knights/story-e6frexnr-1226037454541
BRISBANE 17 (J Reed 2 G Beale M Gillett triesD Lockyer field goal) bt NEWCASTLE 6 (C Paterson try K Gidley goal) at Suncorp Stadium. Referee: Jared Maxwell, Phil Haines. Crowd: 24,522.

Could be just me, but I don't see where FOX Sports have a page of crowd stats or even attach crowds to match stats.
