Kinda disappointing to hear predictions as low as 22K for the dogs parra game. I understand that form is a big factor but for a clash like this we really should be aiming to get 30K as a bare minimum.

I still think we will get above 25K but we will have to wait and see.

Considering it pulled 75k a couple of years ago. Obviously that was a semi, but still, half of that would be nice.

The last four all got over 31,000 (34.5k, 32k, 74.5k, 31.5k) so they should be aiming for at least 28,000-30,000.

Well as dogs members get free entry and the Easter show being on, i hope that gets more people through, i hope we can get at least 25k.

NRL Stats is the official statistics provider to the NRL - http://live.nrlstats.com/matches/nrl/match6416.html

They have 14,645.

If you produce official evidence from anywhere else, I'm happy to change it.

I don't mind being questioned but don't have a go at me and try to suggest I deliberately have taken away from a crowd. I don't just make figures up to stick here.

For the record: http://live.nrlstats.com/matches/nrl/match6421.html

Just to satisfy your highness: http://www.dailytelegraph.com.au/sp...e-denies-knights/story-e6frexnr-1226037454541

Could be just me, but I don't see where FOX Sports have a page of crowd stats or even attach crowds to match stats.

Firstly i wasn't having a go at you or suggested that you lowered the numbers on purpose, all i said was "you have taken 1,000 away" or something similar as a general chatty type of line. Your perception of that line made you think i was suggesting something i wasn't

However, http://www.nrl.com/stoic-defence-helps-brisbane-beat-knights/tabid/10874/newsid/62205/default.aspx

The Knights had three second half tries disallowed by video referee Chris Ward in the space of three minutes much to the delight of most of the 25,522 crowd.

and, http://www.theaustralian.com.au/new...s-turns-to-stone/story-e6frg7mf-1226037497267

BRISBANE 17 (J Reed 2 G Beale M Gillett tries, D Lockyer field goal) NEWCASTLE 6 (C Paterson try K Gidley goal) at Suncorp Stadium. Referees: Jared Maxwell, Phil Haines. Crowd: 25,522.

But yes, there does seem to also be a lot of sources saying only 24,522.

So, why is this?

how can so many sources be wrong?

Looks a shocker in brisbane....

I bet it did...going by the time of your post (7pm) the first coverage of the ground would've been towards the end of the heavy shower that came through just before kickoff...was a fair exodus up the stairs to the undercover areas! But many sat down again fairly quickly because it stopped pissing down pretty much right on kickoff. Didn't help that it kept raining lightly/drizzled for the entire game though.

It's been great weather since monday... But they're predicting showers from tomorrow afternoon lol... There is a curse on the NRL.

What were the circumstance of '09 though?

by this time in 09 were big rounds such as ANZAC and Easter weekends already played for not?

At this point in 09 the crowds over 30k were:

Broncos v Cowboys - 45k
Broncos v Dragons - 42k
Broncos v Melbourne - 36k

This year over 30k:

Broncos v Cowboys - 45k
Warriors v Eels - 38k
Dragons v Bulldogs - 31k

So all the difference in average is those top 3 games.

The really upsetting thing about this is that we would be so much higher if it wasn't for this trend of weekend rain it seems the whole country is getting. Each time there is a chance at a big crowd it bloody rains.

Souths vs Dogs @ ANZ, 18k (potential 30k) Lead up: Sydney Experience a months worth of rain in 18 hrs
Dragons vs Dogs @ SCG, 31k (potential 38k) lead up: Torrential rain throughout the match, dark cloud cover all day leading into the game.
Dogs vs Wests Tigers @ ANZ, 25k (potential 30k) lead up rains on the day

Now you can obviously see my bias of team here, i'm sure there is much more cases of this kind of thing with games not surrounding dogs games, but if you only take these 3 games and put look at their potential crowd sizes we would be so much higher then it.

The rain is killing us guys.

Don't they have umbrellas in Bankstown or Yagoona?

No. We can't afford them :sarcasm:

Dogs fans are actually less affected by rain then most I think you will find. Look at the game vs manly a while back...pissed down and we still got 18k
