play it at north qld...

send a msg to manly, if your fans arent going to show up theres not much point having finals in your home city.

QFT. NQ would sell out DFS which would be a better result and look for the game. Manly should be given a benchmark of 25000 for this game and if it's not reached, no home finals next year. f**k em

And here we go again about the bloody cold weather. Saying Canberra is cold is like saying Dubai is hot, we know that. It is not going to change so it is not an excuse for Canberra fans.

If the cold does affect the attendance all year every year than either put a roof on the stadium or relocate the team. Otherwise STFU and deal with the fact that a 6th placed side embarrassingly had the worst attendance of all 16 teams.
Ok lets talk about embarassing:-
A club representing the eastern suburbs of sydney
- 3 junior clubs
- a home crowd attendance that is held up by away supporters and fudgy numbers
- a club thats sole existence is dependent upon its support from cyngell/politis
- a club that has no members

Compare easts to souths in terms of there connection with the community / junior numbers / fans showing up to games and easts are a joke yet they have had all the same advantages.

Your club is an embarrasment that belongs in the NSW cup.

Your club hasn't been able to produce a decent player, or do anywhing worthwhile for league for 50 years.

When you search eastern suburbs junior rugby league it comes up with brisbane. Brisbane!!! lol at your club !!

and here we go with the same Sh.it from last week
the same sydney blah bla bah

Like I said
Sydney NRL sides would struggle to get to 5000 on average if their fans had to contend with the way our side played for most of this year & the last 18 years .. & our weather conditions
wot part of that dont you geniuss understand
Manly fans & a lot of other sides don't have that excuse
& anyway
this isnt the home & away season anymore F wit
its the finals
our fans know how to respond to them
most Sydneysiders it seems .... don't ;-)
Souths havent had a crowd average as bad as yours this year since 03, and they have been terrible for 20 odd years (bar 2007).

Their junior clubs got stolen years ago (and actually total 4, not much better). Still, look through their team and see how many are buys from other clubs, how many they've brought through the 20's and Newtown over the years.

Sydney this, Sydney that, blah, blah, blah.

People in glass houses shouldn't throw stones (and I am not a Manly fan)

Excues, excuses. Face up to it - Canberra's crowds are s***. The statistics don't lie - Canberra has the worst corwds in the league and have been awful for some time.

And it's not just measured against Sydney teams that your crowds are bad - it's against every team. So your Sydney paranoia is flawed.

Canberra should be drawing crowds of 15,000 minumum and occasional 20,000's similar to Newcastle Knights.

"...Like I said Sydney NRL sides would struggle to get to 5000 on average if their fans had to contend with the way our side played for most of this year & the last 18 years .." - mate your team made the finals and hasn't missed consecutive finals since 1985-86!!!!!!!!!! And last time I checked Parramatta was a Sydney team - so go and ask a Parramatta fan how their team has played this year...not bad for a 16,800 average. And Penrith with such a crap year they have had averaged more than Canberra - if fact everyone has! There goes your b****hit arguement.

".. & our weather conditions" - if weather conditions are such a factor, why then did the Raiders get the following home crowds in sunny daytime conditions:

vs Parramatta 9,210 sunny Sunday afternoon
vs Gold Coast 8,240 sunny Saturday 5:30 pm
vs Brisbane 9,850 sunny Sunday afternoon

I agree that cold weather in the middle of winter *might* be a factor for *some* people (especially families), but every team could come up with similar excuses. If it is good enough for your 10,000 true believers to find a way to attend in cold weather, then it *should* be good enough for at least another 5,000 in a city as large as Canberra to do the same thing and also support their team on a regular basis.
