Crowds tonight:

14,401 at DFS

12,193 at Parramatta Stadium

10,546 at Allianz Stadium

The AFL beat those figures combined (and the Storm game) with just 1 game last night - way too many blow in NRL teams - back to Newtown/Bears/Steelers no?

Be nice for a change if 40,000 could make it to the Dogs v Tigers game on Fri night.

AFL journos have been doing a lot of chest-beating about the Swans crowd last night as if it's some sort of sign that their stupid game is taking over. Convenient untruths like "biggest crowd of any code in Sydney" have been tossed around.

With way too many teams. The ARLC has a job to do - fill stadiums. Cut ticket prices and if that doesn't work, merge Sydney teams. No more images of near empty stadiums or people standing on hills.

So in summary

You want more fans, with less teams.
You want less empty seats, with more games at huge all seater stadiums.

Check out the big brains on Bob :alcho:.

you want to be critical about too many teams blowing in the NRL ?:sarcasm:

have a look at the AFL
half their comps clubs are full of oxygen thieves .... the fact that big crowds turn out to watch that utter cr@p ... shows what idiots AFL fans are

AFL jurnos have as much cred as the crowd counters at GWS & Thuns games

absolutely ..... NONE

Good work dogs

Canterbury and Brisbane are the only teams in the nrl who can guartenteed a crowd

Pretty much all other teams are relying on pot luck and form

With both teams finals bound (dogs in 1st) and both teams coming off a few wins i would expect a big one. Two of the biggest drawing teams in Sydney as well, we should be aiming for 40K (hopefully you would think in the near future we can be aiming for more than that).

Let's hope the Sydney media really build this game up.

Instead of talking about the friggin NSW Origin coach.

Newcastle has consistantly averaged 18-20k for the last 10-15 years. I think they averaged 20k when they won the spoon.

Yeah fair enough add them to the list...

If you take out Brisbane and think about just NSW clubs, the only 2 clubs who are going places in terms of crowds are Dogs and Newcastle....

Hmmm lets think what have these two done in the past few years,

CHEAP FLEXIBLE MEMBERSHIPS.... , game day experience, good marketing,

Why can't all the others work this out...

7 years ago, the dogs were all thought to be rapists and their fans were all considered to be lebbo gang members who would bash your kids after the game.

They have done a great job to turn this around

You do realize that was a sub-20k crowd on a Sunday arvo and 2 top 8 teams - a big worry if you ask me. If dogs can't get crowds with the season they are having god help them if they have a poor year!

agreed
it was nothing to write home about
should have been 25K & not one fan less ...

anyway ... I just hope a lot of Dogs fans ( arguably the best supported club in Sydney when they're going well... & they are playing very well .. & Barba is worth the admission price alone ) didn't turn up today because they are waiting for next week & one of their tradtional rivals in the Tigers

& lets hope tigers fans turn up in force next week too as they walk the tight rope
should be a belter
Benny V Benji
Barba V Marshall

30,000 minimum people ...off yr butts & get there

Sunday Arvo up against city to surf with grey clouds in the sky all day with the lame weather that has been in Sydney this weekend, against a team who have lost 3 on the trott and expected to get beaten, with no media hype. If Brisbane had of won the last 3 games this game would have pushed 30k
