The most impressive and disappointing thing about tonights crowd was the uneven split amongst supporters.
When the game was moved, I thought the biggest boost would be in the amount of Dragons fans that turned up. I was clearly wrong. Besides the Dragon army in the south east corner, their support was sparsely spread around the rest of the ground.
Out of the 45 000 in attendance, there would easily have been 35 000 Parra fans there, so the move from Parra Stadium (which I supported all along) did indeed give more Eels fans a chance to farewell their hero's.
It's disappointing that Dragon's fans didn't make the most of the opportunity to farewell their players as well. The crowd could have been well over the 50 000 mark.

I would've called the split 30k > 15k in Parra's favour tbh.

Dogs vs manly will be lucky to nudge 40k

Cowgirls - 26k
Raiders - 19k
Storm - 25k with 5k rabbits fans

I don’t want to death ride the finals but does anyone else get the feeling the 1st week of crowds will be below par.

Dogs/Manly (30k) – Manly fans don’t travel. If this was against any other Sydney team it would be at least 40k.

Storm/Souths (16k) – I can’t see them getting much more than this given there is an AFL final the same night albeit a different time.

Cowboys/Broncs (26k) – This one will definitely be a good crowd. I am assuming 26k is capacity?

Raiders/Sharks (15k) – Raiders barely averaged over 10k so unlike most I don’t see a cause for optimism here. I guess Sunday arvo helps.

Assuming the higher ranked teams win I don’t see Manly/Cowboys at SFS and Souths/Raiders at ANZ being particularly big draws either.

I will be stunned, absolutely stunned, if the Raiders crowd is less than 20k.

Canberra is known as a bandwagon town and I have no doubts the public will come out in force, not to mention I expect a big Sharks contingent to travel down.

It was already hard to get decent seats this morning in the pre-sale, so I'd say a fair few have been sold already.

Last Canberra Home semi in 2010 got 26k (full house) - though there was a bit more hype and they were playing the Tigers

Canberra is a bandwagon town. Look at Brumbies yo-yo crowds when they're winning and losing, it's not just the Raiders.

We'll pusk 24k imo.

Cowboys tix are going like wildfire, there's gonna be some pissed off people tomorrow that will miss out, goes to show it pays (literally) to become a member. I got some awesome premium seats in the smaller western stand, looking forward to this game big time.

the Canberra Region League is busily trying to move around its local junior & Senior League finals so everything is finished by 3pm on Sunday ... I have spoken to a heap of people today ....everyone of them said they'd be going on Sunday
if we get a Sunday like the last 2 weather wise .... we could be putting up the full house sign.

27,500 tickets were sold .. including 15,000 to the general public in 2 hours on the Wednesday  ... ended up with 26,800 turning up
it was freezing & the standing room tickets were only $20.. so a lot who had these decided to watch on the telle at home rather then barely be able to see the game & freeze as well I'd say

while I don't expect a frenzy like that .... I think we'll push the limits of the grounds capacity.. Sunday 4pm is the best time for us to get the maximum turnout.

Capacity is 26,000 I think without standing room, unless there's a rush on I doubt they'll offer those.

Shame they couldn't schedule the finals for max fan attendance.

Should have been

Fri Melbourne
Sat 6pm raiders
Sat 8pm cowboys
Sun 3 pm bulldogs

That would have been best schedule for fans

Whinge, whinge, whinge. It never ends with you.

The Raiders will argue that the game split is the best for their chances of a sell out.

Canberra Radio has reported that 8,500 tickets have already been sold.

We will crack 20k easily, weather forecast so far is good so hopefully we're able to sell out!
