Why is Penrith still in the NRL ?

Did you even watch the fking game? It was definately between 13-15k at Skilled. Very patchy behind goals, but sides fairly full in a 27k stadium. It was definately around 1/2 full.

Yep after 45 years they still have not got a sizeable local following.
GWS Eels has got some appeal if the NRL needs slots to expand

Why is Penrith still in the NRL ?

Because they have a lot of money from their leagues club and a huge junior catchment.

Lots of league fans live there, they just don't support Penrith (as multi-generational supporters of clubs like Canterbury, Wests, Souths, St George)

The Panthers in my opinion have major image/brand issues. They are precieved as bogan and can't shake that image.

Crowds pretty much met my expectations this round so far. Didn't expect any more than that at Penrith.

Todays games should both be 15k+ given the weather and fixture
