Souths can get 50k in George St on a sunny Sunday afternoon if it is a question of them against Murdoch/nine/NRL but if you think they can get the same number at a game you are dreaming.

DC no Sydney H&A game has got more than 42K in 39 years - why do you think this will suddenly change?

We had two of Sydney's best supported teams playing. It really was a home game for both. Souths season ticket holders did not have to pay to enter the stadium. The game involved teams both who are in the top eight and in winning form. Everyone knew it was going to be a good game.

Seriously we should be looking for big crowds to attend games like this.

- strong attendance culture, which leads to a strong membership culture
- kids tickets are super cheap, making it a reasonably priced day out for the family
- clubs in Melbourne play out of one of two stadiums, each with at least one train station within a two minute walk

Basically people go because it's part of their routine, and it's cheap and easy to attend.

Explains Melbourne's crowds. Doesn't explain the fact West Coast, Fremantle, Adelaide, and Port Adelaide all have a higher average home crowd over their history than the Broncos, despite being in cities half the size of Brisbane and having to compete with a cross town rival.

The might suck for some teams but big games at big venues should be shortlisted for Sunday arvo footy.

Imagine tonight's game on a Sunday arvo. Minimum 25k even in poor weather.

Weather was a clear factor tonight, it was pouring right up until 15-20 min before kickoff.

The NSW rugby union team got 13k tonight.

They represent the entire state.

Rebels were the same on Friday. But then again, union is more about the internationals than local games. And the Rebels are usually crap. :(

Super Rugby is *supposed* to be the professional equivalent of the AFL and NRL for Rugby... I don't think 13k is a pass mark for a team that only plays a handful of games in the city.

The crowd at ANZ pretty much sums up NSW's shit take of an attitude towards Rugby League. Aren't Canterbury and Souffs supposed to be 2 of the biggest clubs?

Oh f**k me....

Which competition did the Broncos enter? The NSWRL, because the NSWRL was the superior competition and the QRL was utter shite.

I hope the NRL throws in another 4 Brisbane teams to see how well they draw.

Any chance you can explain why a Broncos v Titans local derby only draws 30,000 in 2012 when in previous seasons it's nearly sold the f**king joint out?

Crowds are on the decline in Queensland... which is concerning given that there are only 24 NRL matches in SEQ each season (give or take finals).

All while the place is campaigning for an extra team too. Go figure.

You're using the Titans game as an example, are you? Well f**k me senseless. They probably only drew 30,000 because the Titans were towards the bottom of the ladder and in the headlines with financial issues at the time you stooge. Souffs and Canterbury were fighting for a spot in the top 4.

Souths and Canterbury also share the population of Sydney with 7 other clubs... How many does Brisbane and Gold Coast have to share?

f**king douchebag. It's a tired argument you run, just like how QLDers gloat about selling out State of Origin so quick, whilst ignoring the fact their stadium is 30k less than in NSW.

It was a shit crowd yes, but it has NOTHING to do with a QLD v NSW argument you f**kstick.

It's simple.

Sydney is an event town

Turn this games from fixtures to events

And you u will build crowds

Gallop u have to spend money to make money

A trial NFL game got 60000 to ANZ once

So if crowds are on decline in Queensland is League dying there and will the AFL pounce on that.
