This Friday Brisbane vs Dragons will get 40k plus easy, can't say the same for the Melbourne game (won't be full house obv not get 40k). The same two teams couldnt even crack 15k at the finals last season so I can't see it happening this Friday night.

This Friday's Storm vs. Knights at AAMI Park could not have been scheduled any worse. Up against the "proper" opening weekend of the AFL season. Across the road will be Collingwood vs. Hawthorn at the MCG.

Just thinking that given the redevelopment to win, the solid start at kogarah and the fact we host Anzac day this year, the dragons could average very close to 20k. Contingent on form and some decent weather of course

How can 50% of their crowds just disappear? wtf? Are gold coast people really that fickle still?

Disappointing I expected 25-30,000. A good day weather wise, an undefeated team playing a team whose fans travel. Should have been better.

Maybe if Newcastle supporters bothered to turn up we could've hit 25K!

Deadset would've been lucky if 300 Newcastle supporters turned up yesterday!

I have it on good authority they bought just 1 Sid Foggs down the freeway, and it wasn't even full.

Not to mention that their support would've been diluted by the Jets A-League match on across town that was final-round and must-win to get to the finals.

Not great scheduling by the NRL in that sense but it shouldn't matter.

I remember times, not all that long ago that their was a convoy of Sid Foggs buses heading down the F3 ful of cheering Knights fans. What has gone wrong?

Roy Masters thinks (and probably has some inside mail) that the Tits crowds have been optimistic

"The Titans are very good at creative accounting in a sport that invented rubbery figures with attendances. Crowds at their two home games have been estimated at only two-thirds the registered figures."

:lol::lol:

well, if the Titans are reportedly paying $300k per home game, and basic adult tiz are $27 each, then they need between 11-12k adults paying that just to break even.

Crowd number below 11k will make it obvious that they're making losses on patronage, excluding signage revenue which is probably allocated over the 12 games.

So we can comment on how bad a poor crowd looks on TV.

right there. in many cases, the NRL looks like a 2-bit amateur suburban Rugby comp on the ABC a few years ago, rather than the most popular league on the eastern seaboard of Australia.

Actually basic adults are $30.
