The Carlton v Collingwood game drew 78,000 fans which is a lot. But I expected bigger (90,000 plus) for the biggest rivalry in the AFL.
Is Origin really a factor down there? They were expecting a crowd of 23k,
.
i see your estimation for Souths v Dogs is 30k.... i think this is 20k light
So did I actually.

It seems that expectations for certain games oneed to be based on the day of week, Souths v Dogs/Bunnies will be 30K on a Friday but 50K+ on a Sunday. The NRL only have themselves to blame for poor crowds when they allow TV to call the shots.
When we were waiting for the draw the tv execs didn't the the original draw and demanded a new draw.

Does the ground in Darwin hold 14K? Genuinely curious, i can't remember the last game there.
Last year. Easts/Cows got 10k off the top of my head.
That is ridiculous. How can you be allowed to play a competition game in a ground with such shitty capacity.
Make it 10k then.
If it is that its ok but everyone was saying it couldnt even hold 14It has had a crowd of 17500 there, hardly a shitty capacity?
To be quite honest I don't see any real reason to play a game in Darwin.
