It was hardly an impartial objective analysis of stats. He was trolling Souths despite the fact that his club has a significantly worse record in this department. If his criticism on us was proportional to his criticism on Easts crowds then I wouldn't have said a word.

I think you're being a little precious. It's an answer I'd actually be interested to read if you cared to present those stats in an objective manner like you suggest.

Looking at it impartially 16k against the Cowboys is excellent. Would I have liked a few more? Yes. But I'd like a few more at every game.

Few Sydney teams have ever got 16k against the Cowboys and it not a crowd that should be ridiculed.

16k against the Cows is good, but you should be compared to your membership numbers. Just like Brisbane's crowds are criticised because of their catchment area.

We got a few thousand less against literally the worst attended team in the comp. Penrith have the 2nd worst home attendance, 2nd worst away attendance, and overall worst combined attendance in the league by a significant margin.

i think the reason souths will be critisised is that the fans constantly go on about the supporters and member numbers. If you bag other sides out about crowds all clubs should expect the same in return.
Myself, i think 16k against the cows is alright. Sharks tigers should have been at either lich/shark pk.

As for the crowd, from a legitimate impartial view i thought it was only fair to average. I can't really see the point in comparing the crowd last night against the Cows compared to past numbers. In the vast majority of those years the Souffs were beyond shit down near the bottom so of course their crowds will reflect that.

Now that they're finally showing a bit form wise and given they've grown their membership base substantially from past years it's a no brainier the crowds will increase. That said given the massive form turnaround as well as memberships and just normal fans in general without a membership, i think they were entitled to get at least 20k last night regardless of whether it was the Cows or not.
