Lol I have seen patchier crowds on the hill this season called more apparently.
This week has had a lot of that.

It was announced Dave Smith was cracking down on bullshit crowds and that looks like it is happening.

These crowds don't match previous crowds because now it looks like they're forced to tell the truth.

What has he done? Tell me. I'm very disappointed thus far.

You have assumed smith is cracking on the back of a comment by weidler a notorious bullshitter with no quotes and no evidence to back it up.

No way in help another 7-8k get into that hill in safety

Just goes to show how packed the hill and the ends have to be for Manly to have a 17k+ crowds.

It must be bloody uncomfortable when it is.

With hills its hard, because when there is room people stretch out/ sit down, so it can still look pretty dense when its not.

There were only a few rows standing and the concourses weren't full so 13k sounds right. You can barely move when its over 17k.

Incorrect. Southern Orcas have been working on entry into the NRL for about a decade now. They for some reason don't get the media attention they should. Good ground, an area that has produced good Kiwis, connectivity with other areas (Wairarapa, Nelson, Malborough, Manawatu)... I don't know why it's never got rave reviews in the Australian media, but they are the forgotten bid for some reason.

Was there on Saturday night, awesome atmosphere, even today Warriors jersey all around Wellington. Massive potential in Wellington.

Err no there isn't. There was a bid in 2005 but when they lost out to the Gold Coast the bid folded. There has been no suggestion that that particular bid team will have another go, the wellington rl in 2009 suggested they would interested and NZRL last year briefly intimated they might be interested in making a bid for the south island but nothing came of it. Not to say one might not emerge next year when the expansion race hots up again but as it stands there is no bid on the table for wellington.

What's a passable crowd for the table-topping Bunnies this Friday night?

Anything less than 25k would be a real bitch in my eyes.

What i said was they are working On entry.

Jason was at Westpac Stadium on Saturday talking again about the push for a Wellington team. They have junior talent who have gone to be successful NRL players, good support (I've heard excuses as to why they don't get massive crowds when an NRL team goes to a potential expansion city, Wellington turns up every time ), a good stadium centrally located to the city, it's just never been considered highly by the NRL.

South Island wouldn't be feasible. The West Coast where I'm from is the most passionate league area imaginable but is sparcely populated and very remote. Christchurch has way bigger fish to fry to rebuild itself (though the Orcas would take games there I hear), Dunedin has a fantastic new stadium but is still very union oriented (though the Warriors got a god crows for a trial this year).

We're playing the team coming last. When is the last time anyone got close to 30k against a team coming 16th?

The Tigers have been involved in 2 sub 10k crowds this year and both were against Sydney teams.

It'll be 20k and 20k will be a good crowd for such a lopsided (on paper) matchup.
