We're playing the team coming last. When is the last time anyone got close to 30k against a team coming 16th?

The Tigers have been involved in 2 sub 10k crowds this year and both were against Sydney teams.

It'll be 20k and 20k will be a good crowd for such a lopsided (on paper) matchup.

The Dogs got 23K against the Tigers. I would expect something similar for Souths.

If South Sydney cannot get more then 23,000 it'll be a disgrace!! The Dogs were coming second last I think at that stage (2 wins, 5 losses)... South Sydney are first.

Lol look at the haters line up to set unrealistic expectations so they can bag us if we fall short of their silly standards.

20k will be a good crowd. If it gets any more that will be a bonus.

It doesn't matter the opposition as far as I'm concerned since Souths is winning you think the bandwagon will come out full force no matter who the opposition is since Souths at top of the ladder currently. No excuses.

Newcastle 2005

Newcastle (last) v Cronulla (3rd last) 23,084. Actually the knights have heaps of 20K + crowds that year. Even an away game NZ was able to get 17K in playing the knights, and NZ were 2nd last.

You guys should at least be able to beat the Bulldogs v Tigers game this year, same venue, lovely weather coming up, no excuses for your 25K supporter base not getting out there. It's a guaranteed win, what could be better?

No excuses for Souths fans this weekend.. I will be there, if only I could say that for every Souths fan capable of getting to the game.

I would honestly expect 25k, but Souths fans will disappoint me again and we'll probably get about 18 or 19.

Looks way more. Why would they under report it?

Looked like far more than the Newcastle crowd in round 2 but was certainly nowhere near the Souffs crowd 2 weeks ago. I guessed about 14k so about 13k sounds pretty close to the mark. People were certainly a bit more spread out on their blankets than they were against Souffs. At that game it was standing room only on the hill south of half way.

On a side note, I thought Souffs fans were feral but the Roosters fans on the hill last night made Souffs fans look like MENSA candidates in comparison. What a bunch of scum the Roosters fans were. As one fan quipped, they can usually get away with it when they're sitting in their own empty stadium.

Never said they were but there was some friendly banter going on with the Souffs and Newcastle fans (unfortunately only about 5 Sharks fans turned up so not much happened there) but the Roosters fans last night were among the worst I've seen at any game or any ground.

26,115 vs Manly
23,084 vs Cronulla
22,423 vs Brisbane
20,023 vs Melbourne

If you ask me, pretty bloody good for a team that came last that year to have 4 20k+ home crowds. Substantially better than what Souffs got the following year. They struggled to even get a third of those crowd attendances under the legendary Bomber McRae. I'd love to see Souffs get anywhere near that if they were running last and had a 13 game losing streak.

2005 all started off on the wrong foot with the aftermath of that trial match in Bathurst and we never recovered from that. Lost a big sponsorship deal with Gizmondo (or whatever it was called) and there was always a big division between the players that were involved and those that weren't. Off-field crap translated to on-field crap. However, the difference between 2005 and 2007 - where we should've got the spoon had it not been for some magical brilliance in the last 8 minutes of our season vs Wests Tigers - is that that the fans appreciated the players' efforts in 2005. They tried their guts off. We had some painful, close losses in that 13-game losing streak.

However, it was apparent during 2007 post-Joey retiring that we were carrying a plethora of gutless wonders like Clint Newton who had absolutely no passion to play for the club and Thank God Brian Smith got rid of them. It just goes to show how good of a player Joey really was in covering up a lot of the dead wood he was forced to carry in the back half of his career.

This week has had a lot of that.

It was announced Dave Smith was cracking down on bullshit crowds and that looks like it is happening.

These crowds don't match previous crowds because now it looks like they're forced to tell the truth.

Tell the tax office that one mate!

We are only setting expectations based on your alleged membership base as well as form and the purported popularity of souffs throughout the galaxy.

I doubt we would have got 15k to that game. Our crowds drop off dramatically when were going bad. In 2001 we got crowds as low as 4000 at LO and our season is going just bad this year.
In fact our lowest 20 home games attendances were all at LO or CSS. Not homebush or SFS or Bluetongue or Wellington. Our fans loving the tradional home grounds is not backed up by ant fact or figures.

Disagree.

I'm sure you would have got a lot more Tigers fans showing up at Leichardt instead of the SFS on Friday night.

The Sharks fans would have shown up as well as Leichardt is a ground the fans like to attend!

So all the wrist slashing about our crowd on Friday against an out of town side and yet it was the biggest crowd in Oz for the round.

Now you are setting up bullshit numbers to justify the means to put the boot in.

Do you guys want League to prosper because I would expect this kind of shit from AFL trolls.
