Theres just zero rivalry with the broncos and titans.

For all Broncos fans - they are on par with teams like Penrith and Canberra.. A "meh who cares" team.

Maybe the clubs need to start having a pop at each other to create some hatred and rivalry? Sometimes our game is too sterile and clinical. A few player punch ups, some verbals between Cartwright and Griffin and bang you sell out the stadium. Look what Ricky did for ticket sales in SOO in Sydney.

They need Wally Lewis playing for the Broncos and Jim Cowell playing for the Gold Coast.

They can then start spitting at each other on the field.

The fact that Ricky actually needed to do that to entice the NSW people into origin is pretty sad.

The last to titans games were 31k-ish i remmeber in socking weather.

And im pretty sure the 43k in 09 and 40k in 2010 there were breaks between blockbuster games.

The large Storm, Cowboys and Souths crowds will all affect this titans crowd in a negative way.

That seems like such an AFL thing to do.

That's why it needs to come from the clubs. In my home city the clubs hate each other and are not afraid to show it, every derby game gets double the avg crowd. Might be manufactured at the start but it will build to a genuine dislike which leads to massive rivalry and interest. Clubs just have to buy into it.

We don't fall for that sh*t in the more civilised states.

Lol, yeh of course not, tell me again why SOO is so hyped?
Difference is a Queenslander won't go and play for NSW for a slightly bigger check.

Rep footy rivalry cannot be manufactured into club footy. It's taken real traditional clubs decades to build real ones.

Brisbane and the Gold Coast may develop a real rivalry but it'll only happen naturally when people have real reason to dislike each other.

Yeah the fact is - a firm majority of "titans fans" are ex broncos fans living on the GC, and when it comes down to it - they prefer the Broncos or other teams.

To be fair PR does have a point.
I mean, there's no substitue for a deep tradition of hatred, but that Battle of Brookvale fight hasnt exactly hurt the Manly-Melbourne rivalry.

Take the piss if you want, but PR does have a point.

And i dont think he's suggesting that the buy a trophy and say "you are arch rivals and you will enjoy it!!". But a bit of a stur up in the media couldnt hurt.
