When it's sunny it's not good for the crowd, when it's raining it's not good. Geez RL fans are a fickle mob! The Titans marketing g and membership staff need a rocket up their backsides.1/2 decent team, decent facilities, only club in a decent population region that claims to be RL region. No excuse other than poor game engagement strategy.

It's sad what has happened to the Titans.

The drop off has been consistent but 2011 was the year it dipped to 15k and has kept dropping. First year was always going to be the novelty factor but the 19k 2009 and 17k 2010 shows there is support there for them if they can get their mojo back.

Just on crowds are we starting to see the gap happen between the haves and have nots? Could just be success on the field of course or is it a longer term pattern we will see due to different sized supporter bases?

7 clubs on 17k+
9 clubs on 14K or less

I cant be bothered quoting all the excuses from the derelict souffs supporters. They continue to defend the their crowds but none of them can explain why they are the only club with such a big discrepancy between membership numbers and crowd numbers. The answer is that the membership base is a myth.

To the imbecile who said our average will drop dramatically next year, that is another myth. Our crowds in years we don't host round 1 and Anzac day are at times bigger than the years we do.

Numbers of twitter followers is used globally to assess fanbase size. Yankees in baseball, Lakers in basketball, Manchester United in English football, Collingwood in AFL etc all predictably Number 1 in their sport.

Number 1 in NSW and 2nd to the Broncos overall? South Sydney. Whether you like it or not the Bunnies are up with the biggest. So they drew a poorish crowd in Origin window. Everyone does. the Dogs drew 12K be Cronulla last year.

Because members do not equal season ticket holders.

Why can't you guys understand that? Have you got Rooster-sized brains?

It would be really disappointing if Souths don't average over 20k at the end of the premiership rounds considering the year they've had thus far and the hangover from a great 2012.

When it's all said & done, crowds numbers is directly proportional to wins on the field.

There are other factors but none nearly as influential in year by year game attendance ups & downs.

Beat me to it :p

Also I wouldn't be surprised if the poor crowds that the Titans are getting is due to the prices that they are charging for tickets. Overcharging is terrible business practice and makes the sustainability of the club difficult.

13k is a bad crowd for a team leading the comp whether they have 5 members or 26k members, not just for Souths, any of the 16 teams leading the comp and getting 13k is bad.

Does anyone have the stats for what each club is rating when it comes to crowd sizes in 2013? Also if someone can post how crowds are comparing in relation to last year, that would be great :)

souffs need to move back to sfs

The demographics of their supporter base now best supports a team who plays out of Homebush, I can't find the promotion the NRL ran where the majority of members in one suburb were represented by the clubs logo but it shows it quite clearly.

Their days of playing out of a stadium near or in South Sydney are in the past.
