My pax was 38600 (approx) for four tickets in GA. With the weather and Easter Show walk up I'd be expecting 48-50k, with a 60/40 split Eels over Tigers.

Cost and referees making up 51% - sounds spot on with general consensus on this board.

I wish people would just shut the hell up and deal with this. We seem to be the only sport that looks like a joke and a laugh for other codes when it comes to refereeing. Why? Not because our referees are any better or worse then the AFL, Union, NFL or any other sport but because we go on and and on and on and we cant live with a few suspect calls. Usually calls that are in the grey area category anyway.

I for instance love watching the NFL too. They have 7 Officials watching on EVERY play, yes that's right 7 and they still get it WRONG sometimes, there are dud calls in just about every game. Why is it that nothing ever happens afterwards? Because players, coaches, commentators, analysts, newspapers don't write or brag on and on about it after every bad call that's been made.

This is where I think the NRL shoots itself in the foot here. Going around and apologising to the Cowboys or the Dragons the week before, it's ridiculous. Take a look at the dragons game, you have nrl fans and armchair experts getting all fired up because they don't understand that the on field game clock sometimes isn't in sync with the Fox sports thinking the Dragons got robbed when they were beaten fair and square.

Then you have coaches like the famous Geoff Toovey blow up last year constantly criticizing the referee. What's even worse is some of our apparently best game analysts publicly state that he's being "passionate" and that it's a "good thing". Those sorts of blow ups are an embarrassment to our game, they make us look amateurish and unprofessional. He should have been hit with a $100,000 fine and a suspension, not $10,000.

We have our best commentators and analysts constantly go on about this and that referee decision. There's an article in the paper today stating what the NRL ladder "should look like" as a result of bad calls, where does it end?? Rugby League in itself has a lot of grey areas and a lot of calls are up to the referees interpretation. Take a look at the Easter Friday game and the Coery Thompson try. The obstruction in the NRL is such a grey area in itself, then you start pausing the game and getting into hypotheticals of would Player A catch player B or was Player C slightly obstructed here. I can live and I'm happy with the try being given, Dogs win and we all go home. People just need to deal with a few questionable refereeing decisions like they do in other sports.

So to say that 22% of people don't attend footy games because of a few refereeing decisions is ridiculous and the biggest load of crap. I've never met anybody who wont go to the footy because there was a few bad calls against his team. Again it's the NRL's fault for giving people a reason to vent about referees and polls such as these are a way for people to vent.

It's a disgrace the Broncs settle for 30-35,000 crowds in a 52,000 stadium when they should be attracting 45,000 plus each game.

I know!

They would prefer 35,000 getting ripped off than 45,000 happy people continuing to come.

every game this year I have witnessed people around me have slight whinges about the pricing.

And then, the Facebook admins harp on begging people to come.

The "earlybird" prices are still multiple dollar increases on last year.

I could have gone to:

Bulldogs v Rabbitohs = $12.50
Manly V Cowboys = $10
Eels V Tigers = $10
Total = $32.50.

wait until theres a second brisbane team and the broncos have a challenge for the market.

i believe a new brisbane team could get better crowds than the broncos if they offered fairly priced tickets

we'll probably still be behind last year after next week unless this monday game draws a massive crowd along with a few sellouts next.

possible to finish above 2013 avg, but 16.5k is a big ask right now with the origin lull coming up.

origin destroyed crowds last year and they never recovered

i think as we hit origin and go out of it well be well ahead of last year's figures.

they didnt manage origin right last year, apparently they have learnt their lesson

45-50k after the walkup is taken in. Seems presales will be around 40k, then conservative walkup of 5k to push it past Friday.

The fact that from now on we will have 3 x 40k+ crowds in a fortnight is massive boon for the game in sydney. But we need to find way to involve manly, Cronulla and Penrith in big event type games otherwise they will get left behind. Queens birthday weekend is the next one to target with another annual Monday afternoon game.

they have to play some games at anz against the fellow tenants and offer reciprocal rights

the more clubs that do it, the more memberships will take off because not only do you get your own home games, you might get 6 more for all the other clubs who shares ANZ

50 - 55k

anything less ill be disappointed.

if there is the same large walk up as friday who knows?

the game needs a massive crowd to counter the negative media, something like 60k would be wonderful

Why would you be disappointed? A mid 30's crowd would have been excellent. It's already broken the match record between the two clubs.

Anyone who is disappointed with today's crowd is a pessimistic twit.

those two ticket categories are down to single seats, the third one is bay 411 which is near the sideline

other bays showing allocation exhausted

if this keeps up the lower bowl could be full

this game is 13k pax ahead of friday as of last thursday

since last friday got 43k, you would think 50k for an extra 3 days sales would be conservative.

they had cheap adult tickets way earlier and the game has been marketed hard.

The Pax number is on every ticket that you buy, Pax is over 39k atm.

could you link the article of this 12k tickets sold in pre sale, we are talking about the Eels vs Tigers game and not the souths vs Dogs game.

In Syd it is Panthers, Sharks and Sea-Eagles who need some big games.

Thoughts:
Cronulla - take a home game to SFS vs Dragons. Would be good if they could get both members in.
Manly - they tried SCG a few years back v Parra. Would it work if given a good slot and marketed and allowed to grow?
Panthers - hardest one. Homebush v Eels could work but maybe Roosters? It's a tough ask though.

A few special days to build tradition on:
Queens bday Monday
Father's Day
Panthers could do a pink Mothers day thing but it's always tough crowd wise.
Use ANZ on Easter Sat and Sun too?

Also what if the Titans played Broncos at Suncorp again. This boosted their avg for the first couplebof seasons.
